Good afternoon! New member here - love the information! So - after many years of looking for a scope for my No4T, I found one. CST No32 Mk3 serial number 19312. It also has "OS 2039A" marking. 2 quick questions:
1 - the left horizontal wire is very slightly sagging - can this be repaired? Is it worth repairing?
2 - any history / service dates would be wonderful!

Just came across this Forum and wanted to join up. I'm just a newbie to milsurp, but have managed to start my collection with the following:
1885 Martini Henry Mark III (22 Caliber Conversion 1936)
1920 Mosin-Nagant Izhevsk Dragoon
1943 Swedish Mauser M38
1943 Swiss K31
1955 Russian Tula SKS
Only had a chance to shoot the K31 so far, but, man, what a nice Rifle! Waiting for the snow & ice to melt some more before going back to the range to try the others....
Anyhow, hope to learn lots here.

New member and new to these older era guns/ collecting.
A few weeks ago I went shooting with some friends and one brought an old Mosin-Nagant he said he picked it up a couple of years ago, anyway, that was my first experience shooting an older rifle and I had a blast. In fact, I ended up just shooting that gun the rest of the day.
I now have the bug and have been doing some research into what direction to head down. I restore old cars and motorcycles for a hobby and when I came across some old rifle restoration articles, that really piqued my interest. for me working on stuff is just as fun as using it IMO.
I think I would like to get into collecting by getting a worn/well used Yugo M48 Mauser. "Zastava M48" I thought if I go into this I might as build one as a heritage gun as my dad immigrated from former Yugoslavia (modern-day Serbia)
So, now I am looking to get more information and learn where I can to pick up an M48 that is in shootable condition but not so nice that I can re-build it how I would like.

Hello and thanks for providing great information on a wide range of topics. I’m a new member as I’ve found that I’m on or directed to this site quite often. I collect Milsurps and this has helped a lot when searching the net. I’m into most types of Milsurps without being really focused on one type or category. I have an SVT SKS ENFIELDS GARAND Swede Mauser and Mosins to name a few. Also into ARs and black powder. I’m in the process of desporterizing a Savage no4mk1 and will probably start to put the m96 back together someday soon. So thanks for the info and I’ll be popping in from time to time. Cheers

My name is Tim and I love to hunt and shoot! I started hunting at an early age of eight and still love to hunt. I just started to collect mil-sup weapons about two years ago, I just started a gunsmithing class this year. I hope to retire soon and would like to work part time on gunsmithing.
