It was converted 4th Jan 1971 as part of batch no. 4

L42A1 converted in 1971 allegedly, with the very unusual serial number of “ SA71/1 “. Does this one show up on the list please?

It is with alleged L42A1 AS3070 which you reported is NOT on the list.

Sadly neither on the lists having checked them several times now, but there is one very close but not AS3070.

There were some made up 'L42' type rifles which one UK dealer was claiming were made for a South Africa contract, with no L42 markings at all. I think they used the SA71/X serial numbers.

Have a bit of an enigma that I was looking for advice on- I have an L42 with serial number T33838 which is dated '71, the bolt is dated 38338 however, this came from a private collection and has obviously been cared for, and shoots exceptionally well. Also have an Enforcer with serial number 373. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
