Just joined today. Interested in learning about Browning 1919A4.
Good evening, everyone. I'm new to the forum, and I am looking for a new 1903A3 Type C stock to replace one that has been damaged. I'd like it to be fully inlet ("drop-in"), and require minimal wood removal and finishing to replicate the original, true Type C stock size, lines and contours. Thank you in advance for any assistance and recommendations that you are able to provide.
I prefer to repair the current stock, and have a possible option, but I'm covering my bases nonetheless. Thank you for the recommendations!
Hello,
I have joined this forum because I am seeking further information regarding a number of M16A1 that are currently in use by the Vietnam Peoples Army. I have a list of serial numbers and I would appreciate any assistance in finding out some more about the rifles. I will post the numbers and photos of the lower receivers in a future thread.
Thank you
Turner Ashby
I'm new member here nickmeal by name,i want good people arround...i am glad to be here
I have been interested in milsurps for a lifetime, but have only begun to collect them in earnest over the past couple of years (space being the primary problem previously). I now have a bit of room and am slowly growing out a collection of shooters primarily.
So far-
US Rifles:
-Remington 1903A3 (12/42 receiver and barrel) - mostly correct, re-arsenaled, in a scant stock (had some issues and cracks I corrected, then glass bedded).
-Danish VAR Garand (1943 SA Receiver), mostly Beretta large assemblies, SA small parts. OpRod is out to Columbus Machine to rebuild at present.
-Late (1955) post war SA Greek Cavalry Garand (return presumably through CMP) in mint condition and dark Greek parkerization. OpRod is HRA, the rest is 100% correct SA.
-1943 Inland Carbine, Blue Sky Return. Light gray park consistent with Blue Sky early returns. Mix-master of late M1/M2 parts. Functions darn near flawlessly and is a wonderful shooter.
-1873 model, 1889 production SA Trapdoor Carbine. All original and correct. I don't shoot it much, but with the trapdoor specific loads it isn't too unpleasant....lol.
British Rifles:
-Lithgow 1916 SMLE, 7/1945 rebuild. Former Cadet Rifle (previous owner removed yellow paint at muzzle). All parts match ser. # (stock, front cap, bolt, receiver, replacement barrel), rear sight excluded.
-Long Branch No.4 Mk1*, 1942 production, South African Issue, all original, non-refurbished and matching Nos across the board.
On the docket for acquisition short term:
post 800k SA 1903
US model 1917
long-term - TBD!
Thanks for the add and I look forward to chatting with all of you over this insane passion!
