Those are excellent shots of the chest and I noticed that the end on the lid does not have the piece installed cross ways to prevent warping and checking as is called for in the British version of the plans. I wonder if this lid was damaged while in use somewhere and replaced in the field with what ever was available and the metal corners were installed due to lack of the cross ways piece of wood on the ends?

Would you say that the majority of Canadian transit boxes all had that purplish interior Stencollector?

I do not believe the lid is a replacement. Everything matches.

I can only speak for the two boxes I picked up; both had the purple primer. Check with Cantom or Superbee over on CGN; they both have Cdn chests as I understand.

From what I understand Stencollector is that there were four manufacturers of the transit boxes here in Canada during the war?, Any idea, or indication where yours was made? Have you any information on the various manufacturers? I would be greatly interested in finding out who the boxes were made by and where.

Anyone else have any pictures of Canadian made transit boxes?

I am also intrested in building a transit box for my No4T. I found the blueprints in the forum, but does anybody have them in a better quality scanned in one part? It will be much easier to work with a good print.

They are a very hard set of prints to build from but it can be done and chances are those prints are as good as it may ever get.
I have attached a couple of pictures of a recent box I finished and sent off to the UK.

Here's an example of what Peter mentioned on a British chest. The handles were replaced with sections of a Machine gun belt. Ray
