Front sight

Mine is different,it is stamped ROF +.031
I know that is almost no different than .030
They probably could not find the zero and used a 1 instead.
Any other explanations?

.031 is a Bren gun! I never knew that they would interchange. I think that the foresight block on your rifle has been bubbad to accept it but I could be wrong

SMLE. ETA Its definitely not this! Sorry about that. It took three layers of stupid to put up this post! How come nobody beat me about the head and shoulders? Been dreading this all day and nothing? Come on guys!

Eleven hours after I posted this (originally in the form of "SMLE?") I remembered that the +0.031", 0.047", 0.062", and 0.078" sights that I remembered were from sighting in my semi-auto BREN. Why it didn't register at first? No idea! But it woke me up from a sound sleep...

It looks as if nothing has been altered.I'll will need to get some correct ones when I get ready to sight it in, after I get through restoring the Maltby.

Jojoevo, what type of fore sight base is on your rifle? The one w/ the screw in front or the solid?

Solid

The sight base is stamped N67 on the front,I know that it was made by Singer Manufacturing Co. Ltd ., Clydebank.
The rear of the base is stamped with Roman Numeral II, would that make it a Mk2 Block,Band.
The Blade is Dovetailed with a slot.

Looks like you're stuck looking for sights w/ the split dovetail, then. I've seen plenty of "incorrectly" installed split bottomed sights in the screw clamp foresight blocks, but it doesn't work at all the other way.

I don't have the screw type foresight base,it is the solid.
Which sights are correct for my foresight base?

Short new answer (because I can't find the old one):

Putting a solid foresight in your solid base will enlarge the base's dovetail so that the sight will, sooner or later, come adrift. This is also from Captain Laidler, who knows plenty more than me!
