Parartrooper value

Hello I have a really clean second run low wood M1A1 carbine it is a inland in the correct serial number range and I think all of the parts are correct. I had a health scare a while back and decided to sell some of the more valuable items in my collection. Now that my health looks better I am having second thoughts about selling however last week I got a bid on it of 2300 I am trying to decide if that is a really decent offer and I should go ahead and get rid of it or if I should pull it from the auction and keep it a while longer. any coments

Violation of Gunbroker rules to withdraw it once a bid has been made. I think you're morally bound to sell it to the highest bidder.

That is a fair price for a MIXMASTER M1A1-- all or near all correct might go almost twice that !

That may be why a bid popped up on it so quickly. Rice, I hope you get a strong price for it. You can always hope that the high bidder backs out or doesn't pay. If that happens and you choose to re-list it, you may want to consider placing a reserve on it.

You can always have a friend bid on it. You would only have to pay listing and selling fees. Then debate holding on to it or relisting with a reserve.

rice; you don't just 'have a bid on it' - the gun is sold. If you don't understand how auctions work, get somebody to help you! You must have started it at that minimum price, and a guy met it. Even if you don't get another bid, it's sold. If you didn't know the value you should have made it a reserve auction with a high reserve. If you get a shill bidder to win it so you can keep it, you'll still have to pay all fees including 'final value' which will be considerable. If you try to claim 'non-paying bidder', you have to throw your shill friend under the bus. You see, it really just gets uglier and uglier, like if your shill doesn't win it but succeeds in driving the price up, and Gunbroker discovers the relationship between you and the shill.
When you start a basic auction and a bidder meets your price, the item is sold. I would be packing it up if I were you.

With 4 days left, that price will jump the last hour...........prob close to 3K.

Having someone bid and win it, and then paying all the selling fees, not trying to claim non-paying bidder, then buying it back from him is not shill bidding. Shill bidding is to intentionally drive up the price of an item to increase a sales value. Gun Broker gets their fees. That would be his penalty to keep the gun. maybe or maybe not worth it.
Personally I think just letting the sale go through it's course, he will get a fair value for it. Probably more then it is worth.
