Most accurate 7.62x54 ammo

Aside from hand loads I am curious what people are finding to be the most accurate 7.62 ammo on the market. I have heard the Polish surplus coming out recently has been quite good. Any info is appreciated.

dunno about commercial stuff. I have some Berdan primed stuff that beats hell out of my shoulder and shoots pretty tight groups out of my full length MN.

I have finally found a load that holds a tight group from my carbines. 15 Grains of Unique under a 155 grain gas check .308 lee bullet cast from wheelweight. Odd that the long gun splatters the same load all over the paper... still playing around looking for a good load for that one ...

I just purchased my 1st MN M91/30. Its a 1943 Tula with a CH marked barrel. The bore appears to be very good. I'ld like to also know what otheres have found to be the most current accurate ammo.

I would like to know as well...I've been shooting 147gr FMJ Mil Surp from a spam can... out to 200yrds it appears to shoot very nice... 180gr Win are 3in groups at 100yrds... Would like to find or reload ammo so I DO NOT want to attach the bayonet to get better accuracy... The bayonet just looks way bad should a game/ law officer show up, I can't imagine explaning that one!!???

The bottom line is what may work well in one rifle may not be the best performer in another. The best way to go is try to pick up some small lots of different ammo if you can and try them in your rifle. Some of the best shooting milsurp ammo I have had was Polish and some of the worst was also Polish (50s dated Polish Heavy Ball) so you never know. I will say however that other than the 50s Polish HB; I haven't shot any surplus 7.62x54r that I would consider bad. Most all of it in a good rifle would shoot 2.5MOA or better.

I shoot a Finn M39. I have a bunch of old brass case Bulgarian 182 gr yellow tip heavy ball, works great but not sure it is as accurate as the light ball. I have shot Wolf modern 150 gr ammo, and that is accurate enough but more expensive. I recommend you get a spam can of Russian or Hungarian 149 gr light ball, both should do just fine in the Mosin rifle. Aim surplus has a bunch of Romanian on sale right now, I have no idea how that stuff shoots.

I got the Russian 7.62 x54rmm from Aim Surplus 147 gr FMJ hols a 2 inch group at 100 yards its acouple of buck more than the Romanian The Russian ammo shoots well and is very clean and bright

Will have to pick up a little of everything. I have a Finn Capture PE sniper that I will be rescoping and I also have a unissed m39 that I recently picked up. Have not tried either but looking forward to it.

The Winchester 180 seems to work well as well as the Pri Partisan. The russian stuff opens up a bit more and is corrosive which means clean your rifle afterwards

Will have to try them out. I just got my bent bolt back from BOLTMAN, and have yet to fire the rifle. Was at the range yesterday but don't have any ammo to feed it. The local DICK's has stopped carrying ammo and firearms, and no one in the area sells anything.
