Just acquired M1 Carbine and I need suggestions finding good quality magazines. I've seen many sites online that sell them, but trust input from members here to lead me in best direction. Thank you in advance for any info.

Why not just place a WTB in the forum here? Mags are plentiful.
ston57,
I would stick with USGI magazines, there are some good after market mags out there, but doesn't seem right not to use the real thing.
Like B A R said you can post on the WTB or...
You could contact Eddy Yuja in Texas. He sells on Gun Broker as 81mm.
Here's a link to some of his mag related items...

Big Thanks! I knew I'd get good help here.
CMP still has USGI 15 rd mags for $15. I have had very good luck with both the Korean KCI 15 rd mags and the Korean "UU" 30 rd mags. They can be had at several places on line for low prices (CTD has the 15rd for $8 and the 30rd for $10.) Just make sure you buy them new and in the brown paper wrapping paper.
I have my share of USGI mags, but I use the Korean mags for range and playing around. I just don't like putting alot of wear and tear on the 70 year mags (and Yes, I know they can take it!)
Hope that helps...
Local gun shows have been my best source for USGI magazines.
I've found the best prices at the small, rural shows - at least in
my area. The Korean magazines in the brown wrappers work
well - with CTD having the best prices.
And what is the current price of a GI 15 round mag. TR says $15 from CMP, what is it at a gun show?
Paid $25.00 for 2 (IS & IW) at the Shenandoah show in
Woodstock, Va. back in February of this year. No pitting,
no rust, only minor scratches. Good deals are out there
just be patient. Got a 15rd (AI) on Auction Arms for $11.00
recently. Seller had it listed as a 10 rd. and nobody bid!
I've been finding some really nice USGI 15 round mags at shows for $10 - $15, but missed the last Portland show. A friend who attended said the asking price on the 15 rounders has shot up to $20 and higher. I've only had one failure with my USGI mags, but haven't tried any of the new ones still in the wrap. I have (3) KSG mags and the one that failed was "new" appearing and came with a reconditioned carbine. After firing about 40 rounds, I had a FTF. I took a look and found the lugs almost torn off, allowing the mag to drop down too low for the bolt to strip off a round. I figured it may not have been heat treated, or maybe they weren't ever intended to be used repeatedly. My other KSG's have been used over and over with no problems. The Type 2 on the left looks like it's been through all (3) wars and is still going strong! Has anyone else had the lugs fail like the one on the right? - Bob
I had the lub reak off a hardback 30 rounder. Fortuntely it still had the other rear lug and side lug, and worked OK
