Anyone ever heard of one? I have one. Looks to be an arsenal job with new wood. Blade is original finish with blueing about half an inch from the cross guard. Scabbard shows extensive pitting and the cross guard has some pitting. Markings are all clear.
Wood is VERY grainy, meaning it isn't smooth and the grain is deep. Looks unsanded but looks like it belongs.
I found nothing on this so suspect it may be a bubba special but if it is, it's a very good job.

It's a standard 1914 Swedish carbine bayonet that has pitting that looks like it went through an arsenal rebuild and was parkerized and new wood handles put on. None of my books mention anything but bluing and nothing about parkerizing.
Bid on a Swedish bayo last nite, with frog and hanger $36 (sold) should have watched closer.
If it was the standard bayonet, that's not a big deal. They don't sell for much. More than $36 but $45 is pushing it. The carbine bayonets are two to four times that much. I got it for what I felt was a decent price. The photos were crappy so I took a chance. Not particularly happy to find it parkerized.
My bayonet list is now down to three. Polish Wz22/29, US M4, and Canadian Ross. All of which I currently do not have a rifle for anyway. I picked up three semi difficult ones over the past couple of weeks, two have not yet arrived. This Swedish 1914, a Turkish 1890 uncut and a Finnish M27. Only have the rifle for one of those too. Unfortunately I still have 15 rifles on "The List".
If it isn't in Dana Jones "The Crown Jewels", it probably wasn't done by the Swedes. Knowing how picky they were about the rifles, with those disks, they would surely just have binned a rusty or pitted bayonet?Quote:

I don't have "The Crown Jewels" I have the "For Collectors Only" book. I thought of something last night, it might be spray paint. Appears after a test that is what it is. My bad. Easy solution to spray paint. I like projects anyway. It's really not in that bad of shape. The pitting is minor and the blade is bright. It's just the scabbard and the handle parts.

I'm too lazy to post photos for this. Maybe when the Finn and Turk bayonets show up I'll take pictures of all three. The Turk bayonet looked pretty rough finish wise but didn't appear to be rusty and has all it's markings.
