I see Numrich sell a repro of the Case, STG, No 8 mk I for $139.95 (see Sniper Scope, No. 32, MKII, Reproduction Gun Parts | 1249080 | Numrich Gun Parts )
Is there a supplier of these in the UK or Europe?

Rob, I don't know of anyone in the UK that markets that specific make of repro tin, but you can also get either square or rounded tins from AAS in France. I googled 'AAS Militaria France' & it took me straight to his web site. The only problem is that his are rather more expensive, at 185 euros for a square tin & 195 for the rounded version.
Happy New Year & ATB.
Not in Europe, but check out Wayne Machine Inc. - we supply gun parts and vehicle parts. in Taiwan. They may well be the producers of these and other vintage scopes, along with many other current and vintage military vehicle, gun and ordnance parts. I shot them an email re some parts, and once the shipping was figured out, and a bank wire completed, I had the parts in my hand a week later.
I know a small importer or two here in Canada who have been bringing in stuff directly from them.
I think I bought one from numrich a couple of years ago - they shipped it here (blighty).
Stencollector,
Boy, that is extremely useful! Seems to be the likely source of all the repro stuff we've been seeing. I will send them an email, and while enquiring about one, I'll ask the price of a batch of these, maybe I could arrange a group order for UK forum members. When I get a price, I'll let everyone know.

Rob,
With my curious hat on, I too wanted to see what this guy could conjure up and see the level of his typical Chinese copying technique, and emailed him in November, and to date no reply.
It has to be said some of their machining techniques are brilliant on what is invariably cheaply bought British tooling, but a lot I have to say is crap and would not provide a consistent group using their scope mount or scope, unless someone can report to the contrary! They probably lead on scope gimmickry and mass produced air rifle scopes, but I don't think they can match a British made original and therefore would not be fit for purpose in my opinion.
Hi Gil9713
Sorry if my original post wasn't clear - but I'm not after a repro No. 32 'scope nor the mount, just the tin.
I have just been lucky enough to import from Brian Dick a 1944 No4 (T) in it's transit case. The rifle and its No32 Mk3 scope and mount are absolutely superb, and all 100% original. However, I lack the scope tin, and it is thus the tin which I am seeking.
I'm reminded of the old saying: "It doesn't matter if you have lost your virginity, as long as you still have the box it came in".
In this case, I have the virginity but not the box.
Rob
Rob,
No worries, I'll see if he gets back to me and let you know what he charges for one. It must be the Chinese Autumn in Taiwan or hibernation, as its nots long before they go off for a month on their Chinese New Year Celebrations in February

I have a spare reproduction tin that could be for sale (round edge type).. John at. DS-Solutions somtimes has them in stock,
I'm looking at reproducing the square edge type, but working with a local fabricator could take time as bigger jobs take priority.
Rob,
Certainly more reliable than China mate:thup:
