Amazing!

I recently purchased a job-lot of over 30 US military cloth badges on a well known internet auction site. What I hadn't bargained for when I purchased them is for them to be sent in somewhat "minimalist" packaging, a plain envelope with the 2 long edges taped. Royal Mail delivered my package in one of it's clear plastic bags, apologising for my item reaching me in "this condition". I could see the damage to the original packaging through the clear plastic and I fully expected that more than half of my badges would be missing.

I photographed everything and then I removed the original packaging from Royal Mail's protective cover. Then it was a case of removing what I thought would be what what remained of my badge purchase, through the existing holes in the envelope.

Once all the badges had been removed, counted and checked against the original listing, not a single badge was found to be missing, amazing. I've got to hand it to Royal Mail for delivering my package, without losing a single badge, and despite a catastrophic failure of the original packaging. Well done Royal Mail.

Canadians are said to be famous for apologizing, but I can assure you Canada Post does not use the term "sorry" in any context.

But of course the habit is more popular in certain linguistic groups here than others. ;)

You should try Australia Post I brought Tigers In Combat II By Schneider a very expensive book (1st Ed H/C) and when it arrived the sender had tried their best to allow the book to survive but good ol' Au post had managed to damage the back cover by impact damage like thrown the book anyway I took them on and got "All care no resposibility." to which I replied Far-Q-2...............................

Canada Post managed to snap a Mosin Nagant M91 Infantry rifle at the wrist on me one time. That rifle had been through the Spanish Civil War, and who knows what else but it was Canada Post that was its demise. Fought with them just to get the shipping back, never did get reimbursed the cost of the damage.

Literally about 1-1/2" to 2" round of hardened wood stock in that area, I was shocked

Yep...there was a thread about damages done by CP on CGN, wonder if you saw it? There were several examples of a butt broken clean off a sporting rifle, not so surprising, but the suspicion was it was deliberate. I always cringe to ship a firearm that's worth rel money. I shipped a dewat 1928 Thompson worth $4000 and an early LL M1 rifle worth $2800...both times you hold your breath because even with insurance you will have trouble recouping the money promised. They wonder why they are being found redundant.

They complain about the workload, well for sure when we were kids the workload was ten times worse as there was no email or cell phones. Everything went by carrier. They brought it all on themselves by pricing themselves out of reality. Now people choose "Anything but CP"... Any shipper...

Sometimes you have to wonder about the quality and or intelligence of some of the staff that some courier and shipping companies/organisations use, at times.

There's a few good terms for Australia Post and its adult day-care staff force.

None of which are considered reasonable in polite society and generally make reference to one's parentage, parts of the human anatomy and the inability to determine up from down.

A more useless Government organisation I'm not sure I can find without an exhaustive look...
