No registration required. The serial number is manually written down in a log book and out the door it goes.

I had an M2 just a bit earlier than that one years ago...140,000 earlier. They could have at least re-stamped before refinishing.
Just because it has an M2 stock doesn't mean it was originally an M2 carbine. I've purchased several carbines that came with an M2 stock.
I think what they are saying is that serial number should say “U.S. carbine cal .30 M2” and it looks like the m2 was removed.Quote:
