I cannot remember seeing a L42A1 chest itself being sold, this one I had found even seems to be "full". Well, thought I should share, in case someone is looking to complete his rifle: https://www.proxibid.com/Guns-Milita...98089#topoflot

is that a #32 sniper scope in on of the pics?
Yes a sniper telescope straps and caps.

Contents of chest include the 33" leather cased, extendible Scout Regiment Telescope, 11" Telstg No 42 Mk1 scope w/ single sighting line. IWS Mount, cleaning kit, brushes & literature. CONDITION: Box is structurally sound & canvas straps are intact & pliable. Contents are military surplus, appearing to have been stored properly. Glass appears clear. Leather wraps are pliable & intact. (02-16807-9/JZ). $300-500.
To his credit, the seller does admit that is a No. 42 Mk 1 telescope in this transit chest, but the "complete" CES it contains has elements that represent a bit of a put-together fantasy. Even so, somehow I suspect that will not stop it from selling for a crazy amount.
$1645. Not too shabby.
IMHO very affordable. You could sell that plastic bottle and keep the rest of the chest for free :D
