I just purchased a Chinese mauser for but don't know anything about them. All i know is that it is a copy of the Yugo m24. what is the average price for Chinese mausers? The one i bought is in rough condition but has strong rifling and i paid $125 for it. Did i do okay? Anything I should know about Chinese Mausers?
Actually, China purchased MANY variants of the Mauser spanning several decades and even built their own. It really depends on what one you have. Some of them are even German K98ks remarked as commercial models.
Pics would help. But if it's mechanically sound (perhaps see a gunsmith?) then it should be just fine to fire.
I'll post pics for ya as soon as it gets here probably next monday. There are a couple pics on valley guns still under the non restricted guns not milsurp rifles but no close ups of the reciever markings.

No, he's referring to an 8mm Chinese "chang kai sheck" mauser. It's a king od broad term covering everything from VZ24 clones to K98k mauser banner rifles bought by the chinese government to (unsuccessfully) fight the communists and also the Japanese (successfully).

I couldn't find any pics he was referring to in the unregistered section at Valley Guns, just a Norinco .22 cal Mauser training rifle....

You have to search completed auctions for Mauser. It's the last rifle sold.
Last month I bought a Mauser banner Chinese issue. It's pretty much a 98K with a bunch of little snow balls stamped in it. I haven't shot it yet because of the kids soccer/baseball commitments. But as soon as time allows I'll be reporting the results-SDH

Opps, if you scroll down this page a little there are some photos I took of the chinese mauser I just picked up. I forgot I already posted this one! I think I left some of my best brain cells back in the 1970's. Any how they do look a bit different-SDH
I've never seen any of the Chinese mausers in much better condition than that. It also seems to be about the going price. As far as I know, most of them were torn down and sold for parts. We bought and made up several fine rifles on those actions. One of the rifles that came in from International was in 6.7x57, the original 270. bearhunter
I thought it was pretty cool when I picked it up. A lot of folks past it by because of the cut stock, but, I've seen many duffel bag cuts before and they don't bother me much. The big seller is the bore, I would have bought it just for that alone, can't wait to shoot it-SDH
