This will restore your faith in Americans

Killed in action the week before, the body of Sergeant First Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City, Georgia, just south of Atlanta, on June 11, 2009. The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough, Georgia. A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time.

Nowadays one can be led to believe that America no longer respects honor and no longer honors sacrifice outside the military. Be it known that there are many places in this land where people still recognize the courage and impact of total self-sacrifice.

it is 2400 hours, couldn't sleep, had to see this and now I know where I would live if I needed to move. I am impressed and somehow I feel better about all this stuff going on in this world, I can 't believe those people would stand out on the road that long hot day, the South should be Proud.

Those roads and streets have been a part of my life for 33 years. The folks standing out in the heat, holding flags and saluting at the people I've known all my life. And SSGT. These are the southern Americans he was referring to with his derogatory hateful statement 'These people hold onto their guns and religion'

While certainly appropriate, may I say that this level of support by a community for a fallen son isn't confined just to the South. Sgt. Robert Beall from Oak Harbor, Ohio was KIA last year. Our entire community turned out just like the town shown in the video. No one organized it...it just happened. Damnedest thing I ever saw. And yes....it does the heart good.

It's about the people lining both sides of the road watching, saluting, hands over heart, waving American Flags!! It's about those folks!!! That's AMERICA. This moving tribute to a fallen hero has renewed my faith in America!!! Thank you for sharing it with us. I put on my uniform and go to work everyday to protect our nation..... I have been reminded just who it is I we protect!!! America is alive and well .....
