Hi I need help to identify a German pump action, octagon barreled, possibly .22 . With a magazine fed from below. Looks alot like a Winchester 1890 .But I dont think the Winchester was clip fed. i will try to post pictures later. Also I understand this is a long shot.

Is there a manufacturer name or date? Are there any other identifyable markings?

Are you sure it's even German? Germans were never big on pumps. Most of their repeater .22's were either bolt actions or semi-automatics made by Walther and Mauser.

There are proof marks visible on the right side of the frame and barrel. Closeups would help. Might or might not tell where the rifle was made, but would tell where it was tested and perhaps sold.
Savage made a .22 pump rifle with a box magazine, although I do not know that this is one of them.
I don't know the model, but it certainly looks like a variation of the Winchester model 1906...
I don't think a 1906, as this did not come with a octagon barrel . Not to mention that this one also has a magazine. And that extraction port . Come to think of it . I don"t even think its a .22 anymore . The hole in receiver is just too big :bash: Also clip Does'nt look like .22.
It very much looks like a gun fixed about ten years back, but, that one was Belgium made. I remember it well because I had to get a large book on proof marks to help identify it and also had to make a new P.I.T.B. firing pin, HTH-SDH
Just found my own post again.And can now identify my firearm. Automatische Buechse Syst. Schmeisser Mod. 1912 . The only one registered in Canada.Maybe North America. Unfortunatly there is no slide/action. Overwise complete and in very good condition .If anyone can help me find parts for this I would be very grateful.
It is a Savage M1903 or 1909. Adolf Frank, Hamburg, Germany retailed them for 88 Marks in 1911.
No Savage markings. Pre German W.W.I markings. I tryed to post more pics,but no can do.I agree it looks alot like a Savage 1903.
