The collection grows
I got a little bored after fixing the Romanian Dragunov today, so I figured I'd take a couple of pics of the ceiling in my locker. I have the hard to get stuff locked up with the bolts of the ceiling guns so they won't be shown. Hope you fellows get a good laugh-SDH:D
-
So, were you standing on your head, or hanging from the ceiling when you snapped those pics ....
Nice collection!!!!

Doug

Well mate, I was hanging by my feet trying to grasp the camera, thanks. Someday when I get more time I'll shoot pics of the whole thing, but, it will be tough trying to get the whole thing in five pics-SDH

You indeed are the man, Boy, I'm getting dizzy now!-SDH
-
thats a pretty inventive use of space.
-
Floor space is at a premium, the knife collection pretty much took that over years ago., on the other side is the shop holding over 12,000 lbs of machinery plus two packed safes. I used to hang some guns in there but, the metal chips were finding there way onto the guns so I quickly banned that approach. The only logical space was the knife room ceiling. SDH
-
Well it's a novel storage idea, but where are the rifle bolts?
-
In the safe with the US arms, can't have the bolts around with the kids-SDH
-
Fair enough. I get around that issue by just securely locking the whole room and/or using trigger locks.
-
And where, pray tell do the bats hang???? Nice bit of kit.....
-
I here ya, I have each gun locked with a different type of lock and the keys, FP and bolts are in the safe with Uncle Sam. Can't have enough safety, I even put up digicams wired to a computer located out of the room and send the pics to the server at work. A very close friend lost his 12 year old brother last Oct from a very un-fortunate, very preventable event. I keep his pic on my safe as a constant reminder-SDH
-
I love that basement. Always something new down there. Why no pictures of the wall of knives?
-
I posted it once in the knife section, but, not too much response, Oh well-SDH
-
i like the concept of using the space , im concerned about the dead load it applys but its probably not excessive depending on whats going on above :) , i did get a major crick in my neck trying to look at each one
-
I figure the house was built in 1863, cracks add a little to the atmosphere-SDH
-
works for me - i think your basic 10 lbs applied as two point loads of 5lb each spaced in an area of 1.5 square feet , is not much more than a very small dog of just over 3lbs ---but then most of us dont have so many small dogs covering that much square footage in our homes
cracks are like wrinkles though - they add character :>}
-
I agree entirely, I'm glad my kids don't play the piano-SDH
-
What are the advantages of storing rifles minus the bolts?
-
its a 'safe storage' thing , like trigger locks , cant shoot it if the bolt is locked in a safe ,
-
As well as the ammo being locked in an entirely different safe. Then two remote cameras looking in on things. I have 3 boys and plan to keep it that way, I have a very close friend who did not-SDH
-
I went to the that method after two safes filled. Wife will not deal with a third safe.
