Yaa!...it works
Now that's something I would get myself in trouble with!
You kids get outta my melons!!!
Looks nice,What did you shoot out of it?:super:
Bowling balls!!
That has to be the sweetest bowling ball mortar I have ever seen!!
Dan
I wonder how much propellant it needs? And where can I get one?... For, uh, deer hunting. Yeah, that's it deer hunting!:super:
Yep, its not a bowling ball mortar, buddy of mine sent me some links and you get to see how small it really is. I think it was pool ball sized.
Still a cool little cannon.
Dan
Does anyone have any plans/blueprints for this thing?
Is there any possibility of me getting a copy of said plans/blueprints?
I'd absolutely LOVE to build one of these.
If I was going to build one of these I would make it a full on bowling ball mortar, all you need is a welding bottle to cut for the barrel and all the window dressing to make it look really cool :)
Dan
Beer can calibre...
No plans.....Buy a pipe (barrel) and build around it

That's just too cool, I had to watch the video again! The muzzle blast of the final shot is the greatest! Can you make some more videos of it? Maybe some target impacts? Do you really shoot cans out of it? Empty, or full of water or sand?
So many questions......
Klunk,
good idea for the Oktoberfest. With your cannon the beer is much faster at me as "Maria" can serve it to me :-))

Gunner
JBS,
come on over to the next Oktoberfest and let us test the new ammo for the cannon:beerchug:
Gunner
Right and I figure you have a flamethrower some place that is converted to squirt gravy too !
If y’all are going to do away with all the wonderful beer maidens then perhaps you can retrain them as an all maiden gun crew !
I use to go to Oktoberfest in New Braunfels Texas each year.
JBS,
thats all a tactical question! If they use the cannon, the wonderful girls will have more time for us
Regards
Gunner:beerchug:
Oh, that's freakin' awesome! You've GOT to make some impact videos now!Quote:

I LOVE New Braunfels JBS! Have you been to Gruene, TX near there?
Gruene, Texas - Gently resisting change since 1872
San Marcos?
I'm from Dallas and that region is the nicest area in Texas to me. Heck, most all of the south Texas 'Hill Country' is wonderful. Spring fed streams, clean air, usually not very crowded with people, lots of German heritage and wunderschön Damen. (Beautiful ladies)
.
Hi, guys. I'm a San Antonio native now living in North Texas (Virginia:-), & I've always wondered why Gruene is pronounced "green" & not "groo-in". Surely, Ernst Gruene (the founder) didn't call himself Green when he came to Texas from Germany? Just curious. Of course, there's also Palacios which in Texan, is pronounced "Palashus".

Funny story Donzi -
The very first time my wife and I went there she only had some crude directions and the name written down. Someone at her work told her it was a great place to visit on our trip to San Marcus.
I took the correct exit as it turned out, and drove a mile or so but I wasn't sure if I was on the correct road so I stopped into a little gas station/store. There were several people inside just hanging around talking and I asked if anyone knew if I was on the right road to 'Gruene' pronouncing it as I would in German and they all laughed! The shop owner said if I was looking for 'GREEN' it was only a mile or so up the road.
I felt like a tourist from New York city. :o
There's a town in New York named Chili, but they pronounce it "Chi-lie", and they're quick to correct you. And Miami, OK, is pronunced "Myammuh".
Yep, and then there's Palestine Texas, pronounced "Palesteen", and Cairo Mississippi, pronounced "karo". I think I'd like to stick w/easy to pronounce, mainstream Texas town names like Dimebox, Telephone, and Cut And Shoot.

So, what's all this got to do with Klunk's cool howitzer?
OK rondog,
Keeping more on subject, how about 'Gun Barrel,' Texas? :)
They are just upset they dont have one nor the ability to make one....so they change the subject
:)
Why the treaded tires? Availability? Just curious.
They`ve seen a cool homemade cannon with a nice beercan ammo and having fun to find a new ammo in the beercan`s direction. And they appreciate the idea of making such a cannon. But didnt know that this was a " no fun " thing.
Sorry for that.
IMO no need to apologize gunner, I don't think you did any harm. I'm sure Klunk made his cannon for fun and not for anything serious like overthrowing the executive of his gun club:;)
Taking it a bit off topic here so I'll apologize in advance just in case  but since some were talking about launching non regulation projectiles out of improvised weapons...
When I was in the reserves we had a Xmas tradition where the Sargents' and W.O.s' Mess engaged the Officers' Mess in a mock battle on the Parade Square. They manhandled a old WW2 German recoiless gun and drove a WW2 German remote control demolition tank to either side of the parade square and then launched toilet paper rolls at each other.
They used Arty simulators as charges and made a gun tube for the demo tank. A Sargent/W.O. drove the tank with levers. Junior Officers manned the recoiless gun. First to score a hit won the battle.
The ORs, NCOs and Officers stood on the balconies and cheered their side on (while enjoying their favorite beverages). It was hilarious!
