Cool.....Frank
Nice, can you play this instrument like an virtuoso?

Nah.......You need a big Buick or Packard. They were the prefered get-away autos as they were more powerful than the Fords that the law had. :D
Will that case close? Or just leave it open for displays?
Emri
Clyde Barrow and John Dillinger preferred Fords.

"I have drove Fords exclusively when I could get away with one"

Ermi,
Yes the case will close all the way, after a lot of adj.
Im a poor gangster, the 31 ford is all i can afford. but i think with a thompson you could put some distance between you and anyone trying to follow to close .
Harlen, Great pic's of Clyde's letter to ford and the pic's of Clyde Barrow's ford.
Here's one more i found of the car.
That was after the V8 was introduced by Ford. During prohabition in the 20's the Fords were no match for a bigger more powerful Buick, Packard, etc.
I was just ribbing Iboos. His car being a 31 would be a 4 cyl., but he took it as intended and fessed up to being a "poor gangster". I'll bet he has a very nice car.
Happy Holidays,
Emri
I knew you were ribbing him Emri. ;)
You should see the Vietnam Era Jeep that he restored!
Of the '31 Ford AND the Jeep!!!
It's a little slow this time of year on the forums.............
Car pics are OK by me !!!
I have a 1939 Ford Tudor (85 HP V8) that I was going to have restored and on the road in 1 year. That was in 1974; when I was young and energetic and had great plans for the future. I still have it. School, ( when I was going to do it in 1 yr.) , Marriage, Kids, Work, and other stuff keep getting in the way. Too many irons in the fire..... It's not done yet.....
Anyhow, "when" I do get to working on it, I plan on making one of those neat flip down boards under the dash to hold a couple of handguns just like Bogart had in his coupe in "The Big Sleep".
Y'all have a Merry Christmas,
Emri
Ermi,
My 2nd car was a 1939 ford 2 door sedan, i had some great time's in it.
Bogart was my fav. also.
Marry Christmas and a Happy New year to you all:beerchug:.

The pics look real nice. VERY nice 31 coupe that Boos has. Oh, I forgot to mention this icon; you reckon a 1931 Cadillac V12 could out-run a Ford ????
Saw a pic of one in a calander showcasing exquisite automobiles today!! Fantastic auto!! HUGE !! You could use the headlamp lenses for dinner plates if you were a big eater !!
Merry Christmas,
Emri
Don't forget the smooth HP of the 1932 Packard V12 Emri!

Of course on my income now, I could barely afford a set of spark plugs for Boos' Ford, so I'll remain in awe of it! ;)
Wow, great Oldies:thup:
If i had lived at that time my favorite were this one. Now it is a bit out of my budget with $225.000:eek:

Here's AlCapone,s 1928 cadillac V8, it sold not long ago for $621,500.
im sure at one time it also had a violin case with a thompson in it.:beerchug:
Was that violin case with the nice tool in it delievered as a standard or was it for extra charge?

Gunner
Actually Gunner, it came with these two guy's as an option.
lboos, hey they`re looking so innocent, like choir boys. I think that are the good boys wich helped a old lady crossing the street.....in the moment that a heavy truck came with full speed down the road:madsmile:

on 1/24/10 barrett-jackson auction sold this 1930 model "A" ford coupe that John Dillinger used in his get-away from Little-Bohemia in 1934 for $150,000.
The car was returned to it's owner where it sat in his barn untill 2006 because it would cost to much to repair, bullet holes, and blood stains on the inside, it was found in 2006 [about] and repaird for the movie Public enemy
# one that came out in 2009 and was used in the movie, Dillinger broke out the back window with his thompson and killed 3 and wounded 7, one of the three men in the car was shot in the back of the head which probley saved him from severe hearing loss as Dillinger was using a 50 round drum in his thompson.
so all gangster's did not use caddy's and packards, in th 20's and 30's, it was the first car he found, he drove it 200 miles and ditch'ed it for a 1932 ford V8, which im sure he did not finance.
