Help...what kind of stock do I have?

This is a 'scant' stock that has no cartouche or any stampings at all on it. It has a rectangle instead of half circle cut for the cutoff and there is no cut for the bolt handle. I am hoping someone will recognize the rectangle relief for the cuttoff. Thanks.

It looks like you got a stock made by "Rosie the stock maker" on her first day at the plant during WW2. Either that or an odd knock off.

There is no cut for the bolt handle. Does it have a cut for the A3 handguard ring??? If not, and I bet it doesn't, I am betting SA. C'mon JB and clear this up.

Looks like a faint S. I've seen some Scant stocks that look like they were carved with a kid's first jacknife (by the kid!). :D

Could it be a Post-War replacement stock?

A little research and a little reading tells me this is a REPLACEMENT STOCK. It has a buttplate, upper band retainer and a lower sling swivel on it so it must have been on a gun at one time. The metal parts that are still on it are blue and not parked.... Sounds like someone's project?

ALL Scant stocks were "replacement stocks" (except for some used as originals on M1903A4s). :D

Stocks were subcontracted by Keystone, American Bowling and Billiard Corp. and Milton Bradley. -- different companies - different machines and tools! :thup:

I thought ChuckinDenver was being a jerk when he said it was made by American Bowling and Billiard Corp! My thread had received several such comments and I thought he was playing along...I apologize to you, Chuck.
Now I would like to know what it is worth? The pictures I posted are representive of the wood....it has no cracks, gouges, dents or problems, maybe a few scuffs. It has the top wood (off color to the stock), blued checkered butt plate with about 50% finish left with nothing stamped on the door, stamped blued lower swivel with rust, blued lower (middle?) band retainer. There are no identifying stampings in the wood. Is it possible to give me a ROUGH idea of it's worth? I am off to a show in January and I want to put a tag on it. Thanks again to those who helped. You have a stock manufactured by one of several different Ordnance spare parts contractors during the latter part of WWII. The stock was made as a spare replacement for use in overhaul. I am unable to identify the specific contractor who made yours, but I have seen them before. They are not scarce.
