Here's my M1A1 repro

Got most of it done a couple of years ago. Found an Inland 297xxx barreled receiver (3-43) at a gunshow. Restored with all the proper Inland parts for that serial number range. Found a high wood repro stock on Gunbroker, sent it to Chuckindenver who, in addition to doing the repark job, Did the cheek piece recess to sharpen it up and give it more definition like the originals. Couple of weeks ago discovered a guy on gunbroker who reparks the stock metal, substitutes the proper sized leather and attaches it with 7/4 brake rivets. Stock just came back today and here she is, Sling is a repro

That's a very nice rifle, good job on the reproduction! I wish I could someday do something like that, but you can't by one of those reproduction stocks here in New York as far as I know. Oh well...

If you had one on a Carbine prior to the passing of the NYS AWB, then it was grandfathered in.

It looks really great, but were not the wire stocks, hinge parts and top hinge cover matte blued, at least on the early ones? The detail on this one is great, like the blued small parts. I just saw a nice khaki repro jump leg case for the M1A1 at Sportsmans Guide. It has the flap cover and leg tie, although it's shown with a full-stock carbine jammed in it. :)

See this thread for decent pictures of a real stock with black steel parts. This is what I was talking about when I said they were 'blued'. Whatever you call it, they were not originally gray like Zinc Phosphate.
