M1 Carbine Winchester type 1 band - eBay (item 290383320784 end time Dec-26-09 18:28:51 PST)
Who in their right mind would pay that type of money even if it was a real type one band? :banghead:
That is George, the Riverbank guy, and I am guessing it has been upped by shill bidding.
And not a good fake at that!
LMAO.....Frank
It would have been cheaper to buy the fake one on GB he has listed.
No mention as to it being "original, genuine, real, WWII GI issued, 65 years old" or any other thing that would indicate it's authenticity! And there is the typical George; if you don't like how I do business or my terms, "F off" statement in the listing. Fools, fools I say!
Why bid just go to is web site and pick out the markings you want! he is throwing a sham-wow and a snuggie in too.
I will never cease to be amazed at what George can pull off.
He's a pro to say the least....
I looked through his customer satisfaction ratings, amazing that there were so many posted at nearly the same time by the same user name, isn't it? Thank God we have a group of knowledgeable people around on the carbines to warn people off the parts humpers. Had I not found posts like Bill's, and a bevy of other long time collectors of carbines, I'd have gotten hosed by many of these thieves. Thanks guys!
3-4 weeks delivery? WTF
I saw that, tends to repeat himself a bit huh? Remember, he's busy sending out parts that he's received payment for, and doesn't live at the post office!
An attitude like that would discourage me from buying anything off a person like that anyway, hell, I'm pretty busy too but I never thought that gave me a right to be an a-hole.
"Roll me Over" is one buyer! There is a statement! "en-herring" is another, maybe like "red-herring"? and then there is "sgshannon" maybe like shenanigans. Humped parts aside, how do you give a guy a good rating when he ships slow and you get a broken stock and he tells you to work it out with UPS?
All BS aside guys, "we", as in the carbine collecting world, know what George is all about and what he sells. He sells a lot of counterfiet parts as real without blinking an eye. Yet there are still a great deal of "we" out there that are supporting him and humpers just like him. We also know, or should know by now, all the AKAs he uses. So why is it that "we" are still supporting George? Because real parts are hard to come by and when you do find them they are so overpriced that the majority of "we" can't afford them. Also, most of us can't tell the difference between the real deal and the counterfiet parts that are now being produced. And probably the biggest reason, he is easy. No face to face, just "Buy It Now" or place your bid and don't trip. The counterfeit parts are getting so much better. Hell, before long, the experts won't be able to tell the difference! :crying:
So, why not just buy a counterfiet part? :dunno: It's my carbine and once I bugger up and age the part no one will be the wiser cause I'm not selling it anyway. Bovine excrement! "We" need to quit supporting George and guys like George because it WILL come back to bite us real hard. That carbine will get sold or traded off someday.
You cannot tell me that some of those eBay purchases are not from people right here on this site, this forum and perhaps even this thread. :yikes:
Many of you may not remember George way back in the day when he did have and did sell real honest to goodness carbine parts. George does have a great deal of those parts still. I don't know what he plans to do with them :ugh:
We all scream like mashed cats about the humpers but they are still with us and stronger than ever! :banghead:
Okay, I'll step down now :bitch:
I sent "Good old George" an email questioning the authenticity of that part. His response was to say he felt sorry for such a mean spirited person such as myself, particularly during the Christmas season. He did say he'd be praying for me, however.
Same old George.
Bill H,
You nailed it.
Quite a few of these buyers are from this forum.
I don't want to start a sh$t storm, but I could pull up posts from some bad mouthing this seller and Repro parts.
The 'List' keeps getting longer........

Boy did I open a can of worms! Yes, I know about George already  , but bringing this up, I hope a new member will learn from the good people here. Have a happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheers:GK
Don't misunderstand please, I am very glad it was brought up. I can only hope the collectors out there will wise up and quit giving these guys the business. Wishful thinking on my part.
No misunderstanding. The more info put out the better.GK
And yes it can go to the other extreme, I saw an example of someone questioning the authenticity of a flip Safety...
Frank,
Also if bayo bands were being repro'd !
