Hi.I finally found a NRF no1 mk3 SMLE.It is a 1918 FTR'ed with a new 42 dated barrel and new wood,bolt renumbered to match,as is the nose cap.NRF also marked on trigger guard,nice touch.
Rifle looks like new.
Canadian C^ marked and brass butt disk marked P.E.I.H
Found in the US.With the dollar on par it was worth the effort to import it.
I was looking for a nice NRF for years.Looks good next to my all matching 1916 SSA!
I will try to post pics later,but dial up is a pain.

I've just gotten home with an .22 Israeli Training Mauser. The barrel is marked remington .22 short & long. Will have to get some pics up soon!

Here is the beginning of my latest project:

a cad marked 4-power shown next to another 4-power scope, and for size comparison next to one of my k98k's.

I will be mounting it on a byf44, preferably a vopo refurb.

If/when you get your refurbed byf44, let me know if you need an unserialized byf late-war stamped trigger guard (no lock screws). I have a spare lying about here somewhere with pretty good original phosphating. Might also have a blued WaA214 stamped floorplate.

I know for the purists this is not a milsurp, but its history or what it is based on is, and this is the part I find very interesting. This CG63 is built on the receiver from the first official batch of M/94 carbines, 1895, second contract from the Mauser factory this ones serial number 107xx of 11961, in 1895. The book Swedish Mauser Rifles also only mentions the CG63 been made on M/96 receivers. One reason I selected this one, and its in good shape, this receiver is at the start of the Swedish Mauser rifle story. A full carbine would be great but not many Mauser ones around the Carl Gustafs fetch a high price and are few, look at the one on this board for sale.

I've always liked that rifle and have wanted to shoot one. ~Angel~ has a few Ross and Enfield target shooting conversions in her collection. Perhaps we should have a section to post and talk about these types of old milsurp conversions.

The CG63 and CG80's are sweet shooters to be sure, and they are factory too - not the work of bubba & Co.
