Update on Rear sight tool

Took the tool over to my cousins shop this morning, and he can fix. Walking around his shop he showed me one of his machines with an AR-15 lower receiver in it. Seems he is manufacturing lower receivers for an outfit called Black Rifle Company. These machines are amazing guys, he told me that after machine gets through, there is no finishing at all, other than having to coat the receiver with the black matte finish. He said this machine is fully automated. I just find that amazing. We both started at AT&T 36 years ago. He resigned after 10 years to continue his Machining Career on his own. I had reservations about it and stuck it out with the Phone Company. Now I drive a Ford F250 and he drives a brand new corvette, and has a 52 ft twin deisal Hatteras yacht at the Yacht Basin at Clear Lake. I took some pics with my cell phone, but they do not do this receiver justice. I'll be getting one of the low serial numbers of one of these receivers. His Production roll is just starting. There of course is no charge on my tool, Blood is thicker than water LOL.

I like the look of fresh machined parts, seems a shame to coat them.

Never have been there, I'll look. Just put this on today. I'll keep it there a while and then put in my 69 Camaro.

This isn't my '70 Mustang in the photo, but I had a cherry, low mileage MACH I that looked exactly like this one in the photo. I bought in 1979 from the original owner. She was an older lady and always kept in in her garage. I let my (then) friend borrow it a few years later and he totaled it. :crying:

1. 1969 camaro ss
2.1965 impala ss 409 auto (last year for the 409)
3. 1971 buick GS stage 1 car
4.1959 Corvette roadster( 1 of 72 that came in the color it was)
5.1971 camaro Z28 (LT! 4 speed )
6. 1070 1/2 ford falcon with a 429 cobra jet
now i all i have is a harley ....sold the gran sport a few months a go ...ir went to an arab in Kuwait city Kuwait

We have a weekend car show here every weekend, not 2 miles from my house. It brings in up to 600 classic's and hot rods every weekend, in a Kroger Parking Lot. Texan's like Hot Rods and Gun Show's.

I had a 1959 Corvette also. Fuel Injected, Inca Silver. I know not many were that color and I'm sure fewer that were fuel injected. Should have kept that car. Here is a sunny day picture with the Hard Top off.
Currently have a 1989 560 SL, a Harley, and a van.

That's what life is really about -
Work your rear-end off all your life and pass along everything you possibly can to your children and grandchildren.

We could keep the 'toys' we accumulate for ourselves, and they'd pass away when we do.

If we share our life and earned possessions with our family while we're still alive, our knowledge and life's experiences will live on for many generations.

I know it doesn't always work like that in life because of reasons out of our control, but it's SO important to the generations who follow us if we try.

My grandson lives with me of his own choice, I wonder why! I will admit I spoil him and his sister rotten. But in todays world these kids are going to need all the help that they can get. I am very proud of him (I guess it shows). He loves Guns, Paintball, Guitars, Cars, you name it. I'm going to show him off again here, and I hope this link will lead you to his You tube site ( which I helped him set up ) so that you all can enjoy his 50's, 60's, and 70's Guitar music. I got a lota time right now because I'm on Spring Break vacation, so my posts will slow down substantually next week. I would rather throw rocks in my creek with my 4 year old Grandson, Will, than shoot a truck load of guns.... We try to do it at least once a week.

I am a bit confused on your 1959 color, metalic green? Was it maybe Regal Turquoise? I don't see where a Green showed as a listed Corvette color until 1960 as a Cascade Green. It was 517A.. Lt. Green

jim, your absolutly right, i checked with my friend who i got it from, it was a 1960, and let me tell you , that cascade green was ugly as hell
