In my experience, Portugese ball ammo is probably the best surplus .308 out there.
So, if you aren't the most accurate guy, how do we know if it is the ammunition or you that isn't the most accurate? Beside IT IS MILITARY BALL AMMUNITION. I am tried of people expecting match grade accuracy from combat grade ammo. Remember, in combat, minute of bad guy is good enough. By the way, are you sure you mean accurate or do you mean precise.

Doesn't accuracy vary from rifle to rifle depending on minute differences in the components. I've frequently read that rifle A likes ammo or load X, while a rifle B in the same caliber likes ammo or load Y. If this is true, then one must match the ammo to the rifle.
Portugese ammo is like the Cadillac of surplus military issued ammo. Now it's $$$ to get it.

What someone trying to sell it to you says it is and what it really is are two different things. But is is very good quality NATO standard military ball ammunition. And as with any quality product it preforms very well.
I did not intend to criticize FNM ammo put to state some sellers claim their ammo is match quality. I purchased a case of the German Nato 7.62 and it's great in my FN/FAL.Quote:

How do you clean after shooting berdan ammo?
You clean your weapon the same after shooting Berdan primed ammuntion as you do after shooting Boxer primed ammunition. Jughead, are you equating Berdan primed with corrosive primed. Just because it is Berdan primed does not make it corrosive. Portaguese FNM 7,62 mm NATO aummition is NON-corrosive. I have a letter from FNM stating that somewhere in my files.
Wizard- Yes, that was my concern- I thought all Berdan primed was corrosive. So, are there any precautions I should be aware of when shooting Portagese Berdan compared to Boxer stuff?
I bought some from Grafs to try. I have a SA NM with 6x24 optics and the rifle is very accurate. At 100 yards from a bench I fired my first round, it hit dead center on the X in the bulls eye. I thought wow, I then fired the second shot and it touched the first. I then started laughing so yes the ammo is good stuff.
