A early 4 digit Inland.
To bad someone went wild with the steel wool.
Damn painters had to make sure they splattered paint specks on the stock also.

Underwood - same with the safety and barrel band. also the wear on the metal doesnt match. also, refinished barrel, and wrong trigger housing.
with a dirtly barrel like that, such wear on the metal, and no pic of the internals. it wont have a dogleg hammer no matter what
NO!! absolutely not worth it, the carbine isn't close to original.

The band on the Underwood is a repro. The front sight belongs on a Saginaw. Rebuild marks on the stock, etc.... JUNQUE!
The Inland looks ok. I know Bonniedog. If he says its original, I believe him.
Stay away from the Underwood Charlie.
First trip around that Underwood reached $1825.... and still didn't meet the RESERVE. Now relisted with 10hrs left, it's @ $750.......

Early Inland sold for $2,856.00. Looked like a original carbine to me.....

Not steel wool - most likely sand paper or a ScotchBrite pad. Steel wool would have been preferable. Too bad, too, because it was an otherwise untouched early Inland. I think somebody paid $1000 too much considering the scratched-up steel.Quote:

im pretty sure the underwood was listed in the back of the carbine club newsletter a few issues ago, was only asking 1400 then, and this undie was listed on GB back in febuary and sold for 1200. i could be wrong, i dont have my notes where im staying, but im almost positive it is
