Keep the velocity down to 1600 fps or less otherwise they will start coming apart on you as it's copper plating over a lead bullet.
Bruce,
I bought a batch of 500 from him.
Will do as you say. My reloader agreed with your opinion.
Will also keep the barrel and action cleaned for any copper fouling.
Thought I'd try them for just simple short range plinking.
After I get them and try them I'll let the board know how they worked out.
Thanks Again for your speedy help,

Has anyone had experience with these types of bullets coming apart and what is the result to the barrel, etc?
I've ordered a batch to try and since I've been downloading to 1600 for my lead bullets it should be no problem, but inquiring minds want to know more.
I used them and started having metal fouling at a little over 1400 fps. By the time I got up to 1600 the bullets were going all over the place at 25 yards and only 1 in ten hit a standard match target at 100 yards. Keep the velocity down or you'll have problems.
Jim,
Thanks for passing along your experience.
Incase I'm not clear may I ask were the bullets you used made by Berrys Mfg?
You know I take your advice to heart and have since I got started with these carbines years ago.
I passed along the concerns posted here to the seller.
He was kind enough to reply and is confident about these bullets.
Quoting him..... " Berry's MFG has been manufacturing those for 40 years+ specifically for the 30 carbine. They recommend to not exceed 1950 fps "
" If you stick to the manufactures instructions I think you'll find that shooting your M1 carbine just got funner as do many of our return customers for those(we can't seem to keep those on the shelf!) "
The seller also offered........ " I have a lot of other reloading components and we can certainly send you something else if you don't think they'll work for you "
I'll stick with the plan to keep the load light for FPS, if they workout ok I'll go from there. But am looking forward to trying them in my one and only regular shooter. My other carbines just get shot for function check.
Except my Fathers Winchester. I have yet to shoot it. Waiting for a very special occasion for that.
I appreciate all the help.

Good to know....I have some 110's made by west coast bullets and will try to get a hold of Barry to see if there are any difference.....West Coast went out of business years ago....Charlie

Will the action even cycle reliably at 1200 fps?
That email from Berry's conflicts with their web site which clearly says 1950 fps.
I guess a phone call is in order..I have 500 of these and at that speed It will shoot way high and probably not function the action....Charlie
Ok here is a link to their web site:
Berry's Manufacturing
Here they say NOT to exceed 1950 fps........

The seller on GB was confident of these working near this range. Said he could barely keep them in stock.
Beats me.........

Oh boy What now......Charlie...I'm going to shoot all mine and order rem or win.....
Checkout the other post on test firing.
New info posted by chris there.

I thought I better jump and correct a quote that was posted when a call was made to Angie at our office. 1200fps is correct for our pistol bullets, but the 110gr .308 RN carbine bullets have a lot more plating on them. You can push those bullets to 1950fps. A couple of years back we had a new core die made that produced a smaller core. After plating we run that thick plated bullet through a carbide final size die to get the .308 diameter. Please feel free to ask me any questions, I try to read all the threads that I can but if you can email me to join in I would be more than happy to join the thread.

Berry's MFG Bullets,
Thank you for adding this information about your 30. cal 308 diameter copper plated bullets.
Many of us have bought these to try out and looking forward to having good luck with them. But as you can see a few questions arose. The questions just happened to come up in two different postings. This one here that you've replied in and the other below.
Luckily a fellow member named emmagee1917 pretty well echoed your reply.
Here's the other you may want to look over also.....
