Major John Kim Williams (retired) passed away 30th June 2010 aged 63
You all knew him by his handle, KimW.
Another 'good-un' gone.
Condolences to the family.
Sad news, indeed.
I first read his posts back on the "Old" Jouster site when I was a mere "lurker".
Here's a link to one of his threads:

His introduction to the Milsurps crowd is below:
"Hi everybody from KimW. I am a survivor of the old Gun and Knife Forum and Jouster.com. Started as a NZ NRA Target shooter in 1965 with my school rifle team, progressed to my University rifle team and then to the NZ Army rifle team and then to the NZ National Team - made the NZ Palma Team in 99. Have been a Geologist, then the NZ Army for 20+ years retiring as a Major in RNZEME and then went back to university and did a Masters and then decided to qualify as a schoolteacher. I have about 43 Lee Enfields from 13 different factories from 1894 to 1954 but don't classify myself as a serious collector."
Kim had flown the Enfield flag for NZ for many years on a few forums before this one.
One of nature's true gentlemen, he will be missed by all who had the pleasure of conversing with him.
Another one of lifes nice people. A true Officer and a Gentleman. Please pass on my kindest but saddest regards to his wife and family

My sincerest condolences to his family,

My sincere condolences to his family.
It's bad enough when the good ones are taken from us, but it should be when they are hoary with age "in the fullness of their years".
Very sorry.
Sincere condolences to his wife and family.

That's a fine gesture Krinko.............. We're firing a Vickers MMG shortly. And if you are up there listening Kim, the first long, long burst will be to remind you that the REME workshops and Small Arms School here are thinking of you

I remember well, Kim's posts from the Gun & Knife forum (Lee Enfield Forum) then to the Jouster forum and finally here and other web sites.
Always polite, as I recall, free with information and just an all around nice guy.
Something I think any of us would be pleased to be remembered for.
