Was on vacation this past week and rescued this from a mostly archery, but some guns, shop in SW Florida. "What kind of carbine you got there?" "Its a 1943 Underwood" I thought I was gonna faint when the guy handed it to me. Its actually a 4.7million range Quality Hardware with a 12-43 Underwood barrel on it. Right as rain! It kept whispering to me, "Please save me all these bows & arrows scare me!" :sos: How could I turn my back on such a request?? :rolleyes: I haven't had a chance to clean it up yet and though I'm really an Inland kind of guy, this may just be a keeper! :thup: I'll post more pics later.

Archery people are a little bit nuts, beleive me I know. Cause I am one. Very nice gun. Stock looks Imaculate. Like to see pictures of parts when you break it down, it may surprise you!

I bet you were grinning like a possum all the way home! I've always loved the excitement of finding a great gun. Congrats!

He actually let me pull the action out of the stock and I pulled the trigger housing, mainspring, slide and bolt out and I could see everything was right. :madsmile: Its really hard to keep a straight face in a situation like that. :move eek: And yes I had to keep pinching myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. :rolleyes: I was almost afraid to open the trunk when I got back to the house for fear it wasn't really there! :lol:

Good things come to those who wait. I'm in the process of detail stripping this beauty. I will lightly clean and lubricate it and take detailed pics of all the parts & pieces then put them in a photobucket album for all to see. Might be a couple of days, might not, stay tuned.......:dunno:
