Does anyone know where I could find a cartridge/magazine cutoff for a No.1 MkIII enfield. I have looked around but the seem to be getting scarce. Any feedback would be appriciated.

Numrich has them for just a hair over $14.00 USD.
Anyone have one for sale , without that little 'ole in it?, lol, inevitable question I suppose.
I have several. PM me if you haven't already bought one.

what exactly is the difference between the regular one and one with no hole?
Lols :)
Hi
Try this: (bottom of page 2)

Hope that works.

I just got one from Springfield Sporters, with no hole. http://www.ssporters.com/parts/ENFIELD1.htm $15.00 and looked brand new.
Correction, I double checked and my cutoff has the hole. Which raises the question, what is significant about the hole?

The hole was used in WWI German propaganda - they claimed it was a means of cutting off the tip of a bullet to convert it to a 'dum-dum':
in English rifle produced dum-dum - Great War Forum
IIRC, it was actually just used as part of the machining process when manufactured.

The reason why anyone gives a darn is that some limited production enfields had them, and these days there always seem to be folks finding these in various conditions who are motivated to restore them, hence the hunt for cut offs with no holes. I'm one of them, been looking for one to suit my 1930 enfield for several years. I've seen them on ebay about one per year but I haven't had the spare dough when they show up.
 The hole is just another example of somebody trying to to shave a few extra milligrams from such a hi-tech rifle!!!
Tradex has scads of them for $10. each
