I was actually looking for something different when I stumbled across the mysterious XIIEI and this object. Is this one of the so-called "Tanker" rifles.

Looks to me like a plain carved-up Ishy.

Navy Arms/Gibbs Rifle Co. are making these up. They cut up original Indians to make this stuff. The have collecting interest if you also collect Golden State Arms/ Santa Fe cut ups from lthe 1960s.

I have passed comment on the thread above regarding this. We have a saying in England and it's this.
BUYER BEWARE
And just in case you haven't read that properly, I'll say that again. BUYER BEWARE
Well, the only thing I could decipher was the pics. Chopped up Ishy for sure. Can't read or speak anything but good old English (with US accent). Have seen a couple of British lady commentators on TV and Lord, how I do love to hear them talk! Doesnt get any better!
I suggest that anyone reading this divert his attention to the thread titled Xiie 1 if you want the full story. But while you divert your attention there, make sure that you don't divert your money to the subject in hand.
As the wise old John Sookey told me. You buy the rifle and not the story. X11 indeed...........................
Regarding the Navy Arms "tanker" that Patrick asked about;
..Originalzustand (umgebaut auf Einzellader)
Do I understand correctly that this one has been modified to single-shot?
Quite correct!
What a mess!
There doesn't seem to be any intent to deceive here---we are absent pantograph embellishment, after all...and the price is not high enough for a rare experimental model.
I was offered a "South African" No5, once. It had an FAL grenade launcher/flash hider machined onto it and was said to have been made up for native troops who weren't to be trusted with the FALs.
Couldn't find any South African property marks on it anywhere, so I saved the $600 for some other forgotten treasure.
I wonder if a .303 would have cleared the flashider?

Yes, 'Einzellader' means modification to single-shot.
Please note that eGun is a company like eBay or Gunbroker. The people selling on those platforms are individuals, so do not compare it to the XIIEI rifle.
Concerning the piece that we're discussing here, shortly after opening the auction I've sent a notification to the seller that he's offering a modified Indian 2A1, but he might didn't want to hear that.
