hi my first time on this forum so please excuse me if im in the wrong place.
i have a 1944 Lee Enfield No32 Mkii sniper scope im thinking of selling i have only the vaguest of notions as to the value so if theres anyone out there can point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated
No doubt some one will steer you in the right direction...
A few pictures and description of the condition of the scope will go a long way to help things get started.

Values............. there are only two prices for anything, including telescopes. The price you want to SELL it for and the price another wants to BUY it for. Put it on an auction site and that is the price - it's true worth. Any other method of ascertaining worth is the economics of the mad house. Think Greece. If it's good, it'll get good money, if it's poor, it'll get correspondingly less money
Everyones being a little cagey, lol, cos we'd all like to have it, and for $1.50.
No32 scopes are prone to a couple of things that lower their value; the adjustment knobs can freeze up, (don't ever force or heat them to make them move) and the lenses can develop mildew and opaque areas. Both can be repaired but require an expert and sending it to one of the very few people in the world who can be trusted with them.
The current economic climate seems to have dropped the ebay prices almost in half or more from 2 years ago.
You have an item of value, and ebay has become a place where they are often seen for sale.
I was told a LONG time ago by an old Jewish friend that the true price of anything is "the second highest bid" in an auction. Also, never make an offer your you will be in an auction sale with yourself.

This reminds me of the last years of Rover cars. They were making mediocre, unstylish but generally good cars. However, they THOUGHT they were making world vbeating superb quality VW's or even BMW's but were charging Mercedes prices. Or rather, they THOUGHT they could charge Mercedes prices and alas, they didn't sell. They put the prices DOWN to BMW comparison prices and STILL didn't sell. But instead of charging Mazda/Renault prices, they clung on and didn't listen to the cheque books being slammed shut. So they paid the price.
I went into my local dealer to buy one of the last Mini Coopers being made and being a prostitute for money, asked for a discount for cash. They wouldn't budge from the showroom price of (I think £10,200 or so). So voted with my feet and went to Belgium. Asked for a discount and got one for £7,700.
I told them but they shrugged their shoulders. This ROVER SAGA is used as a lesson in my sons university business and law course. I lecture in my specialist subject 'ROVER, the economics of the madhouse'
I've digressed............ where were we now? Ah, yes....., two prices. The price you want to pay and the price Rover want to charge
There was a small misprint in the national newspaper which stated that Rover dealers were struggling to find buyers for Rover Cans. I think they meant CARS - but you never know!
the scopes in great condition both optically and mechanicaly as good as the day it was made, but im biased. the paints worn through in places, i hope im in as good a nick when im 70 odd. i've gained a rough idea of the price range and placed it on eBay item 140566162430 .

i've also got a Glock pistol security carry case for sale on eBay too :D
Yours is how most of them ended up. Fitted to little sporty .22's or air rifles
you are missing the proper scope mount(which you may know)..
The scope is worth at least $1200 in my opinion. Original mounts are next to impossible to find by themselves. Repro mounts can be found.
cheers viking guy i've sent off pictures of the sight in order to get it properly valued but i have it on eBay at just under that estimate of yours £600 hopefully with the amount of people watching it it should push it up closer to what you've suggested. once again thanks everyone for your help in this matter.
The scope went for just over the valuation which was fortunate as the valuation didnt reach me until after it was sold lol.
