It was not a DCM Sales NM rifle.
Nothin' in the books, Harlen. Mike
Thanks, Mike

Ain't it the truth, Calfed! It plays havoc on my senility -
There's been times when I see your handle and do a double-take while I'm scanning through my assigned threads and think to myself, 'I don't remember being here before"
I have exactly the same experiences, cafdfw ;)
The first couple of times when someone got mixed up and called me calfed when our motley crew first came over and invaded the peaceful environment here when Jouster crashed, I thought they were being 'cutesie' with my handle! It took me a little while to figure out who you were and what was going on.
Honestly, I'd rather just use my first name but don't think it's possible because it would mess up the database. I used CAFDFW for many years when I was on aviation forums and just carried it over for every forum so I didn't look like I had multiple personality disorder.
I think I'll email Doug and see if it's possible, but I bet it's an involved process.
~ Harlan
I'm the same way...used CalFed on the LEO forums and by force of habit used it on the military surplus forums. Old habits die hard, I guess. I've used "Mustang51", Mustang", and "brody" on a few forums, but keep coming back to "CalFed".
Which aviation forums are you on?
I did an on-line and hardcopy newsletter for the local CAF unit in Dallas Ft Worth for eight long years, and shared the responsibilities with another fellow of our local on-line site hence the start of the CAFDFW handle I carried on for everything else.
(Easy to remember and I type it so fast I don't even look down to type it and I'm a two finger typist)
I used to be on 'WIX' (Warbirds Info Exchange) and a glider club/forum (TSA - Texas Soaring Assoc) for a while, also Avweb, and a couple of others
Then there were the archery forums - The BOWSITE followed by Texasbowunter.com and I taught two day bowhunter courses for state certifications so people could qualify to shoot on drawn bowhunts on government land and they had a simple forum for communication. They never had enough instructors and they'd run you ragged until you have to about quit completely to get a break. I was also the bowhunting director for our local archery club and that took up a lot of time. I did the newsletter for the archery club a few years because nobody else wanted to do it or knew how. They're trying to get me back to doing the newsletter again right now.
Also A local mountain bike club called DORBA | Dallas Off-Road Bicycle Association
I used to have so many things going I couldn't keep up with them and work too. I'd use up my five weeks vacation days one at a time to fly to airshows, etc
Then I came down with spine disease three years ago and it put a screeching halt to most everything.
I raced motocross for about ten years when I was young and 'invincible' and I'm paying for it now in my old age.
Glad I have milsurps.com and the nice people around here who share the only interest I really have left that I can still do.
Hey Calfed,
Check out my new 'handle' -
Now if you change your handle to Harled we're gonna go to virtual fisticuffs
:) I'm too old to change..
