UN-QUALITY M1 Carbine photos
-
-
Does the barrel date 3-44 fall into the time frame? My understanding is the US&S receivers were delivered late 1943 and first quarter 1944.
-
Looks quite nice. Does it have any cast parts? Trigger, sear, or hammer?
-
Very nice indeed! Did you do good???
-
-
What are the markings in the sling well? Looks like an old cartouche under the smaller one.

QHMC's are know to have a circle around them. I have a couple with it and there have been a few COM's that also have that feature. Cartouche looks good to me.
Wtmr, you know a thing or two about UN-Quality's??

I haven't had time to tear it down yet. Front sight is EU marked. Stock has Q RMC in sling cutout. Rear flip sight is GE-Q. The seller said it was all Quality inside. Price was $2250 and I got it for $2000. Seller said he got it from a Greensboro NC policeman.

Who cares what you paid for it , they are like hens teeth. HOME RUN! Don`t let this one go, you won`t find another. You are a lucky dog

I would love to own it, Im just partial to type 1 barrel bands, I know type 2's are correct on carbines of this period, but my collection consists of all type 1's, though Id make an exception here..if I had my way, Id only collect type 1 stocked carbines! I only have 1!
-
The rear sight is 100 percent , the stock, every thing, Did he (the seller ) say any thing more on the policeman , how he came about it
-
I too wonder a bit about the barrel date as in March of 1944 QH was into the 4.78 range according to the March 15th testing program.
-
un-quality vrs. quality hardware numbers. Carbine of the month, newsletter #365. UN-QUALITY #4,458,855 also has an Inland barrel dated 3-44. It's serial number is only 1,195 away. So definitely close to known original.

It would be interesting to know if this carbine can be traced to a certain collector in Florida.
