You mean THERES NO MORE??? How can that be?
MeThinks they want to move out the Field Grades first, then re-offer the SG's at a higher price.
But, I wanted 1 more NOW...

I learned that a local VFW post suspected their new rifles came from the CMP. They had new stocks and had been reworked. If that is the case, we might have to wait a while for the SGs to reappear. The Army might have contracted the replacement process to CMP.
I was at the Annistan store a couple of weeks ago. The bulk of what they had was Winchester Field Grades for $695. A handfull of HR Field grades. A BUNCH of M1Cs and Ds......SA and HR Service Grade Specials....a bunch of 22 target rifles. That's about it. They denied that they had anything else. Time will tell
In Email received today from CMP: :crying:
"GARAND PRICE INCREASES COMING: The price of CMP M1 Garands will increase slightly in the near future, to keep up with our rising costs. As prices are changed, they will be posted on the website. Any orders already in-house when prices change will be charged the price listed at time order was mailed.
Thank you for your continued support.

One of our local Legion Posts should be recieving eight Garands from the US Army TACOM Life Cycle Managment Command in a few days. I am curious to see what exactly they are, I will let you fellas know.
You mean it maybe time to think about selling some of my service grade Garands soon?
I got the same message for the CMP. Maybe they have some parts they can put togeher. First it was the Carbine, now it's the Garand, what's next. O almost forgot, they are out of Ammo too. Sure glad the Govt wastes all that money destoring it......
.....
Don't hate me, but I just got a beautiful Springfield Service grade, with a 1942 receiver, a newer barrel in great shape, beautiful wood, all in beautiful condition. For $700.
This is what Orest had to say back in Aug.

during the summer we found quite a few service grades, but in the last few dozen crates - most have been field grade or less. A peek into the whole next row of crates indicates that we should expect no different. As a result, we have cut off accepting orders for the service grade until we build up a large enough inventory or the trend changes. We've been through this before where we had months of only the lower grade.
No sense in us taking orders that may take months to fill and have to respond to the frantic daily calls and emails on status of order and when will it ship. We sell what we have when we have it.
