An original WW2 British No 32 Mk.I Enfield SPR Scope which has been made no markings and appears to have modified, possibly an SOE or some other covert use? However an alloy cover about 9.5 cm long has been added to the front section. Also the extenable eyepiece section has been taken.The scope itself is totally devoid of any markings, which is very unusual.A tiny amount of metal has been ground off under the scope and Parker Hale attachments have been added, probably susequent to the other modifications.

We have also shown this modified unmarked scope which is for sale with an unmodified No32 Mk 1 Scope from our own collection for comparison which is NOT for sale.At least until we need the money!

The "T" shape hairs and the whole vision of the scope is nice and clear.The side horizontal adjustment turrett clicks round nicely and the side moving adjustment of the "T" shape hairs moves well. Otherwise a rare item in overall good / very good condition.

Is it normal for the turrets to be alloy? Both of my Mk1 scopes are bronze.

Doesn't it just make you want to spit when Scope Bubba isn't content with just removing the anti-rotation peg under the turret assembly (a 4 BA grub screw), but he has to completely destroy the whole housing by grinding/filing it down......

Aahhhh..so that is where "T" comes from...the sight crosshairs. Whoda thunk?

I've seen them done up this way for target shooting. I had one some time ago that had the ocular lens bell extended to increase the power. Rings are bog standard Parker Hale rings. The target boys have no shame and will do anything to squeeze that last millimeter of accuracy out of a rifle an scope.

No markings....... I bet it's an early Watson with shallow engraving. Go over it with a micrometer and you'll find that they've been sanded off

Seen a few like this so if you're thinking of buying it, be advised that some have had the OG/front end of the inner tube hacksawed off to suit the special SOE(?) optical arrangement. You can fix it by accurately undercut machining and fitting the front............. anyway, to save myself a lot of writing, it can be done

Ha you've got to laugh at the optimistic suggestions as to why it might have been chopped up. SOE? I reckon it looks more like an SAS modification to me! ;)

Amazing, now we know what to do when the supply of original no 32 or 42 or 53 OG lenses drys up. Why didn't I think of that before?

Right I'm off to graft the 56 MM OG front end bell off my Nightforce NXS to a a doggy

I think that you should direct your marks to the SOE Roger - if only they were still around.

It' a pity that none of the brackets to attach these to the SOE issued Colt 1903s survive. Perhaps you could produce some and emulate the the success that you have had with those for the No.4T.

I'd love to find an original scope to go in my repro mount, but man some people cant stuff alone, thats kinda sick if you think about the places that scopes been...............I kinda threw up in my mouth alittle

Look on the bright side USMC. It's butchered scopes like this that you can occasionally get cheap. And while you can get them cheap, the repair will be slightly more expensive BUT, it means that you might get a scope for a couple of hundred ££'s, spend another couple of hundred (but no more I should say......) getting it rebuilt and reverted back to standard and then you have a telescope worth a whole lot MORE than you paid AND you have a No4T worth zillions more!
