Maybe for the Krag?? Not LL? Maybe he's just wrong?
Possibly, the claw looks US but it's not the same as the mills canvas Krag sling which is like the British sling, RayQuote:

I think you might be right as it does look like part of a sling. Does any one have a photo of a Mills 07 sling? I'm not sure if I've ever seen one, RayQuote:

The webbing looks like what one finds on some of the low budget Indian knock offs of P37 kit. The thing looks like the long bit of a webbing version of the US leather slings for the Springfield and Enfield 1917.

You're right. The sling is only one of two parts. Anyone buying this Item on eBay will have a difficult time finding the other part to complete it.
Not to mention the $265 he wants for it.

to mutch to pay for one part of a complete assembly that is this rare , i have the krag tropical sling on one of my krags it is most definetly much more similar the the brit web sling except for its brass keepers

My sporterized Long Lee have this old leather sling. Could that be the correct type for this rifle?

CIL, yes that's looks like the correct sling for that rifle.
