I would like to see more pictures of the stock.
I don't know much about Folders, but might it be possible that the wire or maybe just the Butt plate would be USGI?
Butt plate possibly a NOS used on this?
Ch-P7
Impossible to tell from the pictures furnished.
More specifically, the butt plate has a cast in number shown. Am I to understand that Italians made butt plates just like those of USGI with the star and number?

You can send the Italian folding stocks to guys that will "enhance" it to look more original. I know they change the contour of the wood on the left side, replace the rivets, add "aged" looking leather, and also acceptance stamps, etc. I don't know if they are changing the buttplates, but it's possible. I don't think the one on GB has the Italian handguard. - Bob
Here is a real position #1 butt plate to compare.

In the number, don't the 4, 7 and the 1 look identical?
The casting position number doesn't appear to be straight. Maybe it's my screen.
Does the one in question have raised numbering, I thought the numbering should be indented.GK
Jim, what is the casting position number? If it is the "1" it looks to be at the same relation in both photos.
GK, It looks indented to me.
shadycon,
The numbers do not look raised to me.
He states repo, so he is not trying to be dishonest. We are the ones questioning it. I just haven't seen an Italian repro marked like that before. As Charlie mentioned, Maybe some metal was changed out.
Bill,
It just looks canted to the left a bit to me. Could just be the camera angle.

The numbers on the GB one sure look raised to me. Casting shadows off to the right of each letter/number.
JMO,

Charlie your right they are raised. It has the look of being real but it isn't.
It's real, IMO (the butt plate). Look above the 1 between the spring and the casting. You can see the shadow is on the same side of that crevice as all the letters. The shadow is on the right side. All the distances between the groups of depressions are the same. There are a couple of inclusions that are the same as the real one too.
The stock is probably a replacement and someone used a real butt plate. Wish I would've been the winner.
I don't see where the figures are raised. I think they are indented.
