Up until now I had it figured as a Kershaw but while doing some catching up I happened across an old thread that now has me thinking it might be a Kodak instead. My old dog would like to know too.

Happy to see you back! Can't remember the last time I saw you post.
As far as the scope mfg., the real gurus or those with their books handy will have to give the useful info. It's not one of those things that has gotten beaten into the thick skull of mine yet.
It is KODAK from Welwn Garden City in Hertfordshire
It has been a while JM. Sometime last summer IIRC. A computer virus, lots of machinery upgrades at the gin, a very long and busy cotton season and deer hunting have taken up all my time to date. Still have about 3 weeks to go before the ginning is done, looking for upwards of 55,000 bales to pass through this year.
Peter, thanks for clearing that up for me and the antique dog. Maybe now I can find the time for a trip to Brian's and get that bracket to you if your still want to have a go at it. ATB, VH
Would there be a specific serial # range that would identify the Kodak manufactured scopes? Curious, as I recently picked up this no name MKII The centering pin/housing for mounting, forgive me for incorrect nomenclature, has been ground off, but she functions perfectly for a dirty old dog. My little blue book cant help me on this one.

There were a couple of unnamed runs - which seem to be to have been the Kershaw/Kodak ones - the engravings on the pics above are identical.
I imagine a forthcoming blockbuster book co-authored by a dynamic duo of inestimal experts will have the definitive answer... Any updates on it yet DRP/DPL?
;)I'll give him another prod......
Is that the dog Roger, or Peter that's getting the prod?
I wouldn't dare prod the dog; she's mummies little princess..........!

Can anyone tell the manufacturer of this Mark II scope?
TEL SIGHTING
No32 Mk II
OS 1650 A
1944 No 15253
Sorry there are no pictures it's being fitted to a rifle just now.
Thanks
If it ain't got a makers name then it's a Kodak from Welwyn Garden City. But have been informed that that isn't strictly correct as Kodak have/had facilities all over Hertfordshire. But there it is!
The Kodak ones always seem to look a bit rough but are pretty good internally
But around the 15232 area, there seems to be a bit of an overlap between the Watsons and Kodaks and I haven't quite managed to pinpoint a GOOD ball-park change-over number
Mine is dated 1943 with ser.#8582 and the one in post 6 has a 1944 date and is No. 8395. What gives?
How were the Kershaw Mk.1's and 2's marked? KL?
I'm confused....... I hope that new little book comes out soon
Isn't there some suggestion that factories were bombed by the Germans leading to delays in production - which would I suppose explain why some in the 8,000s were produced later than higher numbered ones?
AFAIK it was only Watson who were blitzed, which is said to explain why you see late (1944 dated) Mk1's produced by them - because of the disruption they were slow to make the change-over to Mk2's. The ones I've seen were all in the 14,000-odd serial range though, at least so far as I can remember. PL might be able to give more detail on this.
