I'm looking for some Canadian dealers that regularly stock 7.62x54R Brass, anybody know of any?
I guess I should add that the reason I'm looking is because I just got an SVT and I'm going to need a lot of ammo :D

You can check with Frontier Taxidermy if he still has some surplus ammo by the case, it probably isn't reloadable but you would get started...
Lou
Thanks, I'll check them out! I've got a crate of surplus here, but eventually it's going to run dry (especially if the gov't bans mild steel core ammo :bitch: ) , I'm looking for a slightly more sustainable solution. I've already got my rig setup for .303 and I should be able to use the same bullets and the same powder that I've been using, all I need is the brass :\
I use Lapua 7.62 x 53R from Peter at Shooting sport supplies - Hirsch Precision in Nova Scotia.
MysticPlayer on CGN can likely get it for you, his prices are consistent with the market norm as far as I can tell.
Thanks for the tip Seamus but it looks like Canadian Gun Nutz has blocked registration for webmail users like myself and their "contact us" form directs to an invalid e-mail address so I haven't been able to sign up :(
If you're a member there do you think you could send the admin a message for me about the webmail problem?
You shouldn't have a problem shipping sealed ammo from my side of the line. You might try Widners and AIM Supply as well as Midway.
I've got to the point of pulling the steel bullet out of the mil surp and seating spitzers on them. I can't prime and powder a piece of brass for the price of a spam can.
Good luck.:super:
Thanks for the suggestion Steve, Unfortunately I already know Midway won't ship up north, tried to get some reloading stuff from them a few months back since they have pretty much everything I could ever want. :banghead:
I fired an e-mail off to the other two companies and I'm hoping one of them has an export license, fingers crossed, neither has the cases I want but both have a good deal on the Czech surplus I like!
You could try Graf & Sons - The Reloading Authority, they have Privi 7.62x54r in the 100 rd. bag. I've used these cases extensively in 3 91/30's and a Finn M39...really good brass from what I've seen. Not sure if they'll ship north, but you can ask.
Looks like Widners and AIM Surplus both lack the proper export permits to send stuff my way :(
Just fired an e-mail off to Graf's, they mention in their FAQ that they do export internationally so hopefully that applies to Canada as well!
Awesome!! Let me know how it works out.
Starline brass has some interesting links that may help. Sorry to hear about AIM and Widners. They've been a nice find for me down south here.
Good Luck!
Steve
Well here's the scoop I got back from Graf's, they do export but...
So while that does mean I can get components from them it means it's going take forever and cost me a mint :( Bummer sometimes being in Canada just sucks.Quote:
We cannot ship loading components or ammunition out of the country without you first having obtained a license /permit from your government, and in turn we file that documentation with our respective governmental departments. As well, for any order under $1000.00 we have to file a license for, there will be a $50.00 service fee.
How about these guys?

DJ Friesen Imports is great.
Dave's my local guy, I usually buy off him at the local HACS gunshow, he can usually get whatever I'm after. I get virtually all of my powder, bullets, handgun brass, dies and reloading gear from him. Great guy to deal with and he's got good prices but he's really, really slow to order from. I've been waiting for a quote on some brass from him since about the 15th :dunno:
When Dave gets back to me I'll post back here as to wqhether he'll bring in the 7.62x54 or not, just in case others are looking too.
