It gave me quite a giggle - can't imagine it's wilful trickery in the sense that it's so ludicrous a real faker wouldn't bother. I do like the "they are stained to a really dark colour may be for camoflouge for sniper rifle." also.
Marks are too deep to sand out and save the pieces. They are just fire wood now.

More likely to see the stamp or stamps on sale next, can imagine the description....
I have 3 original No.4 (T) rifles - 2 from BSA, Shirley and a nice Savage - and I have yet to see a farce such as this with any of them.

I guess it paid off for him. The stock closed at 215 pounds or $337.08 US. Amazing!!

EBay could cure all these shysters simply by making every question asked AND answer appear on the description. Then you's see the question and the evasive or non answer. Clearly some crapheads will be asking stupid questions but experience has taught us all a few polite and diplomatic but totally devastating put-downs. But I won't be holding my breath

The sad thing is he has yet another set he found in the 500.........I'll be watching for it, and as you say, a real shame Ebay don't allow comments to be attached and visible for the unfortunate buyers to see. There were a few bidders too!:eek:
It's all about money. Ebay doesn't give a rat's rear end about corruption. That brave new world rearing it's ugly head again.
I have no idea who the seller is but at least in this auction he has been "honest" with his description in that it is stated as being "new" he has not ascribed it to any particular rifle only to say that the "tiger stripe" may have been done for a sniper rifle. The pictures are there for all to see and unlike the recent "Flanders Flap" con where the seller deliberatley set out to con what you see with this is what you get.Quote:
