I have acquired a numbers matching FN 1950 carbine and was wondering what the average price is on these carbines.
I bought it for $180.

Is that the Belgian one in30-06?
Ed
It is a Belgium but it is a 308, not a 7.62 nato and it has no crest on the ring.
If you need pictures I will have to send them email.
I just bought one and you did quite well at that price. A matching Politie marked M1950 FN produced rifle in 8mm in A+ condition with bayo and sling I have seen go for $900 to $1300. They also came in or were converted to other calibers, .30-06, 7.62 NATO and 7mm Mauser.

It is not a convert. Would be more than happy to send you some pictures.
I have done as much research on these as I think can be done. Very limited info and most folks who claim to know Mausers think these are G33/40s when they first see them. No crests are common, Politie marked carbines are Dutch Police rifles as were mostly all produced in this configuration. Morrocco, Dutch East Endies, Egypt, along with multiple South American countries received these but not many were produced. They will beat you up a bit when shooting and I could not imagine shooting one in .30-06. Mine is in 7mm Mauser and still isn't much fun to shoot but it sure is cute. Is yours single or double broach cut in the receiver as that will determine the model. Double broach cut being M1950.
what does single or double broach mean?
As I understand there are 2 models of this particular rifle called by collectors a M1935 and M1950. Early M1935 receivers are single broach cut and it is located at the very forward end of the receiver at the 3 oclock position where there locking lug would begin to engage. M1950 has 2 and the second is at the 9 oclock directly opposite. Done to make the manufacturing process quicker. Mine is double and since yours is .308 Win I would bet yours is too. Is yours marked Politie on the right side of the receiver ring?
No
Here is a list of all markings found on carbine.
Left side of muzzle: CAL 308
Right side of muzzle: CAI ST ALB VT
MOD 98 BELGIUM
Left side ring: *L--->
Left side receiver: FAB. NAT. D'ARMES de GUERRE
HERSTAL-BELGIQUE
Right side ring: 4 digit serial number
Bolt flat spot: Lion over PV
Bolt bend: 4 digit serial number
Stock behind trigger guard: 2 C
Rear sight only goes to 1400 meters
Under upper hand guard on left side of barrel: Crown symbol over ELG*
Your .308 marking is put there by CAI the importer per import law. Under the upper hand guard you will find the original military caliber designation of 7.62mB if I remember correctly or 7.62x51mB for NATO.
nothing there except the same sn on the right side of the barrel
Well thank everyone who helped me in my search for information, it seems there is very little info on these neat little carbines.
I would strongly advise getting it checked by a gunsmith prior to shooting it. If the only calibre designation is as you say, that was put there by the importer, Century, and those are NOT always correct. Before you shove a 7.62 round up the pipe, just get it checked to ensure it's not a 7mm...

I have had it checked out and it is a FN model 1950 Moroccan .308 carbine.
