Do you guys think the claimed 1961 date of sale from the DCM is correct? I didn't realize any were sold that early. I've been trying to see the date on the documents pictured with no success. I hope someone gets it other than the current high bidder. - Bob
Good looking rifle, but I cant see it going up too much more
i zoomed in on my iphone, i think the reason that he is bidding is because i do not see any stake marks on the rear sight, just my opinion, also the print date on the receipt is !957
Looks like the "Department of Defense Form date is March 1957." I can't make out what is being shown for the "requisition date," it could mean 1957 - "shipping date" is blank isn't it? - Bob
Auction ended at $3075.00 with 43 bids.
I think that's nuts.
This makes me want to sell some, holy moly!
I'm sitting here with my mouth hanging open. Did the 2 folks who ran up the price understand that this is a mixed parts arsenal rebuild with an Underwood stock?
My recollection is that carbines were not offered until 1965. No slings or mags were available, but a 600 rd spam can of ammo was $24 + $6 for shipping by Railway Express. Orders were only accepted for a few months, when it dawned on someone at DOD that obsoleting them was a mistake, as the Viet Nam War was heating up & carbines were needed to arm the South Vietnamese Army. They continued to delivery all carbines for which orders had been accepted, even though it took a couple of years.

$3075 is obscene !
That is way out there. Nice Rock but wow to that price tag!!!
March 1957 is when the form was developed or revised not the ship date.
No - this is obscene!!!

Wow !!!
If you think that's obscene wait until I get my pics posted of the standard products that I paid less than $600 for
Wow ! Thanks for the link, I saw one 2 weeks ago at a show, I'd guess 80% correct with no documentation for $1850. I thought that was high.
Chris
It could be shill bidding too,
I have an rock-ola carbine ser, number 45335xx overall 95% condition it has all rock ola parts except for the upgrade parts! adjust, sight marked with hi! has updated. Mag catch, and safety and type three band marked with a Q all other parts are marked with rock ola ,trigger hous, might be a type one, but it's rockola ,flat blue bolt, R on left side, I think all the parts are org, to carbine with the exception of the updated parts, has AA and OGEK in box, barrel is undated rock ola , carbine retains beautiful reddish brown org! RMC car touches stock and matching RMC hand guard carbine has deep green parkerizing and blues where expected ,pristine bore. I know this not the place to place a add but I would be willing to sell if they are going like that, I would take a lot less, thanks , john
John,
The you are correct, the forum is for discussion. If you want to try and sell your carbine I suggest listing it in the Quartermasters Store.
