WW2 LEE ENFIELD ? NO.4 MK2 ITEM VERY RARE ATTATCHMENT WITH SCABBARD | eBay
Be quick. The thought police will soon figure out that is is prohibited item - a bayonet.
Crikey I am so glad they are a rare item I will have 3 at that price (not) if they are that rare then a whole No.4 would be worth well just 1,000's of pounds, someone give him the message or there may be people duped into buying an item that is really worth at the max $25.00AU. :runaway:
It may be a find could be a rare maker but it certainly ain't a cruciform so that's 1 rare type out of the mix........... :surrender:
Hey.......... Why doesn't EVERYONE on this site (and pass it on to your pals as well..........) put it on their watching-this-item list so that he really thinks that there's some awsome bidding going to take place in the last hour/minutes
He missed a bit of a trick there if he had managed to get "sniper" into the description it would really take off !!!!!!!!!
He doesn't know exactly what it is but he knows it's rare..Huh.?
Now up to 11 people watching.
Peter you do have a good sense of humour.
Paul
I sent him a message saying it wasn't really considered a rare item and I got not one but two messages back filled with hate!! Xmas is coming, must be desperate.
It's funny but all the people that I deal with face-to-face are really nice. ebay seems to bring out the worst in some people.
Did he/she tell you that you don't know what you are talking about? Which seems to be standard response - amongst the bile.
Up to sixteen :D
Just tried to add to my watch list but looks like it's been removed, maybe he got reported.
Help me here...are we speaking of a #4 bayonet? A rusty one at that? 79 Pound Sterling? Documented to have been Capt Peter Laidler's?
Not mine Jim........... I put a superb completely overhauled, bead blasted, phosphated etc etc NO32 Mk2/1 with all NEW L1A1 optics and drums/turret parts and did a nice little spiel about it - as you do, only to find some turkey continually coming back saying that I really ought to get some proper sound advice before I start hyping it up to be something that it wasn't! Well, you can but try. And being polite, even in a barbed way costs nowt as my dad used tp say Like calling someone you don't like SIR....., but spelled CUR!
Or suggest he's a genuine humus being...
Hahahahahahah! I think he doesn't like me, (sad face). He sent me this:
"well I know its worth about a tenner if lucky but sometimes you get lucky , plus it's to wind up all you "experts" which has obviously hit a raw nerve . feedback comments mmmm".
- peppapiglet
Says it all really.
Feel free to bombard peppapiglet with interesting and exciting questions regards his rare Lee Enfield attachment. Hahahahahahah! He's a legend.
Actually, as far as I know, ebay doesn't have any rules against listing bayonets. There are hundreds of them on the site! Even No. 4 spikes are plentiful. This lister could easily have found the going price by searching for other ones.
The expensive ones are the No. 7's. Also cruciform No. 4 Mk. I's.
In the UK we're not allowed to put them on that auction site. Which begs the Q, what are MK1's worth in the UK or US - generally speaking? The real irony is that the worst bayonet ever in terms of mechanical reliability was the No7........., now worth the most (if it is of course!)
Ninteen and counting. Perhaps potential bidders will notice the others listed cheap.
OK I have joined the wind up too:banghead::clap:
Ok so it's not been removed, bloody iphone was playing up!
1 more for the watch list!
24 of us watching...
I'm in
Yep, me too.
26...
Made an account...27
Someone tell me when this is over...I can't stand the suspense...
I'm in 31 at 23:00 GMT Tues 10th Dec
OK, one more watcher, what the hell-I think you guys are a bad influence on me. I see that the seller has declined one offer and I'm sure it couldn't possibly be someone from here offering 50p or so?
Ebay revenge. This is sweet. Perhaps another insulting offer is warrented.
Oops no US bidders allowed.
I think we are doing a public service here.
Well at least we will determine the sucker count on Ebay.
I,m one of the early watchers, think I,ll stick one of mine on and take Buccaneer's advice and place the word SNIPER in the description or title ....
I remember years ago a guy had box's of them, for 50p each in a Liverpool Militaria fair, that was when it was in a Hotel in Lord Nelson Street, there was hundreds of dealers, I remember the day well as a 11 year old, I bought the remains of a Lamp Guide Liberator pistol, everything there except the barrel, cant remember the cost but I didn't break into the pound note I had left..... wish I,d bought two of the spike bayonets though, never thought they would be worth so much...
I hope he gets his price. I have about a dozen of 'em and I could use an extra $1500
Accessories selling them for $15 so they must be rare, and he's got bucket loads of them:D:D
Could be genuinely rare ... if it´s the one I lost when I was eighteen somewhere near the Arthur´s Seat range (Edinburgh). It cost me quite a bit.
Well he has 39 watchers now with me online as well, he did manage to quantify that it fits the No.4 Mk II so all of us with Mk I's and Mk I * 's well we just miss out cause it was not developed as an ATTATCHMENT for our weapons seriously I am so distressed by this I am selling all my 303's the T included and buy a Carcano (no offence to those that have them ok......)
I see one offer was refused buy a feedback 124 member, does this mean we also have to look for specific No.4 bayonets to fit our No.4 zzes why did not the manufacturers of these realise the problems they would cause 60+ years down the track for us serious collectors.
Nice ruse Peter I like that one they piglet will be very enthused on all the watchers, just imagine the pub talk "Cee I told u dat der ting I brawght was (Hic) baluable there are 39 personzes watching it ready to by it from meee (Hic)" malicious pr**k aren't I............:dancingbanana:
So one of piglets comments was sometimes you get lucky well you do get lucky when you stir up this forum cause I for one get ****ed off by people who rip off persons who may through various reasons not know what is not a good buy through sheer innocence or inexperience.
We have all been stung some more that others, me I am an other as I take people on face value and trust having been brought up by very old fashioned parents in a time when we did not need lawyers and if you had a beef with a bloke go out the back yard have a biffo shake hands and Bob is almost your Uncle.......
I despise these type of people absolutely to the bone because they do lay straight in bed after ripping others off as he knowingly stated it is only worth 15GBP and wants 79GBP for it as you can get lucky. AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHH  :banghead:
I offered him $1.50 for it
Cripes even I am not that cheap I offered him 2GBP and I thought I was cheap but alas declined I was Sigh? :( I feel rejected think I will just go on fleabay and buy something 303!!!! :dancingbanana:
My Mother in Law loves me...... On the other hand my Mother calls me an ***hole. :)
+1 on the watchlist
Coal only in this fellows stocking.
Well I've joined in too but I got the chance to join his news letter! I can't wait for my first article to come through.
Its not the first time it's been listed either, perhaps with all the watchers now he thinks one of them may be a big enough mug to buy it.
WW2 LEE ENFIELD ? NO.4 MK2 ITEM VERY RARE ATTATCHMENT WITH SCABBARD | eBay
Oh, and he does love to use the words Scarce and rare in an awful lot of his listings. In the last 2 months scarce has been used 37 times and rare 65.
Jesus, I'm an ebay stalker.
I'm an ebay stalker.
Wear it as a badge of honor in this instance.
Up to 46 watchers now, with this little tidbit attached to the listing:
"WW2 LEE ENFIELD ? ATTACHMENT

The reason that the pommy sellers seem to call them attachments on the pommy EBay is because we're not allowed to put bayonets on here or even mention the word! Wierd or what.....! We're fighting wars all over the world and they don't want us to have sharp knives. It'll be coloured crayons and scissors next, you mark my words........
Your fame - or notoriety - has spread as far as pommy Ebay then Cinders
There´s no real problem. He´s not well informed and placed it on the Bay. And that´s what the market´s there for. If he finds some idiot all well and good. And if he doesn´t, he´ll find out where he´s gone wrong. I just can´t see an issue.
The Piglet aka mr. rare & scarce knows damn well what the "attachment" is and the issue is he is a no-mark scummer trying to take advantage of someone's inexperience. If we all on this forum were judged by your black & white standards Villiers then most of us have been idiots!
Scissors !
Oh Peter, in this cotton-wool wrapped world, how can you even mention something so nasty and SHARP with a CUTTING edge
And those CRAYONS, they might be POISONOUS :move eek: with coloring material that does not come from enlightened equal opportunity sustainable fair-trade low carbon footprint sources. They might even contain artificial substances ...
The shock has put me right off my herbal tea! I shall have to go and lie down for a while ...
Hi guys,
Lets get one thing pretty bloody straight here ok I have not repeat not embarked on a slanderous trail of revealing someone's imbibing habits as that one came from left field as I PM' ed the person concerned CONEC, and he said he had nothing to do with that swipe at me about "I don't drink" it was pretty funny he thought I agree to a point.
You know some people like causing chaos I can do it naturally and do not have to practice it, if I jerk peoples chains with a seeming lack of understanding well that's all it is and people just love to tag a person for these traits as they have the knowledge.
Take people for what they are and treat them as you would be treated as how many times have I praised this forum with all the wise pelicans in it to become a contributing member as well, about time in a world that seems hell bent to tax us to the max or blow us up there is a definite lack of humility and good old friendship going down the gurgler lets start looking out for each other for who we are milsurps members....... :beerchug:
FWIW, I thought it was funny Cinders, sounded like you really gave him a piece of your mind, the fleabay guy I mean...
This is the best...you cant PAY for entertainment like this anywhere!
im really late to this party , and i dont do flebay so dont know how to get on the watch list but its certainly been entertaining hearing about it , great fun , anyone who has to deny his drinking drinks too much - how does that go ....i think he doth protest too much ,
i cant figure out why anyone would layout 79GBP for something they cannot identify , not to mention that spike is in deplorable condition , but then it does have that rare scabbard .....or so he says ,
but then i do own two of those no7 toothpicks that peter thinks so little of , had to have both red and black scales in the collection .....these give me hope for really cleaning up when i divest [or my heirs do]
Apparently there were very few of the black handled tooth picks made so I procured one, if piglet had one of those as an Attatchment then gawd forbid he would want ummmm 790.oo pounds for it and probably say it was as common a pigeon crap in Trafalgar square!
Oh well.......he achieved his aim, got a large over the top amount for something that you can get in better condition for £10 and loads of them......thats Feabay for you..........................now where's that rusty old tent peg, that I think Baden Powell fell over in 1900 on a scout jamboree, but not really sure what it is, but it could be a BOAR war BBQ stake:madsmile::madsmile:
Just checked the site, apparently item did not sell, although he did get 6 offers(declined them all).
