I'd like to get it. But would probably wind up in a bidding war with Paul.
or me!
Marcus, give me a break. Anyway, didn't the weather hurt the corn?:D
I'm not advanced enough to justify the probable cost and too old to ramp up. But I'll bet we never see another one like it, unless maybe in a museum. It will be interesting to see just how much it goes for.
Who is Marcus & who is Paul?
hahahahahaha
Who is Sam-T-Bob?
10, you don't know Sammy?
Congrats Paul !
Not me didn't do it I swear I think Rustship was the culprit
Somebody will own up and post better pictures when they get it.

Sold on eBay for US $301.99
This one-of-a-kind collectable came from the Irwin-Peterson plant and was attached to a small milling machine that was later sold to Smith & Wesson (this comes from the collection of a retired employee of S&W). It reads: “DETROIT ORDNANCE DISTRICT / WAR DEPT. / CONTRACT NO. W-ORD 1548 / IRWIN-PETERSON ARMS CO. / SERIAL NO. 1820”. It measures 3” wide by 1-1/2” high and is made of brass. A unique collectable for the serious M1 Carbine collector and a real piece of history.
He needs a new camera for sure tell him Rustship to get one because his pics are terrible. I don't evan know why he collects and dose not have a decent camera do you?
Paul--you saved me some $$$$
I told you I paid as much for the tag as you did the stool.
My question is, what could this tag possibly be for ? Machinery?
Milling Machine
Original description stated it was attached to a small milling machine. The tag's serial number was probably used for inventory control.Quote:

I noticed your machine is a lower serial number and it looks like one of the mounting studs broke off and it had to be reattached. Very nice, I like the older machinery. I sold my 1949 Walker-Turner drill press in Sept because I didn't want to move it. Still regretting that sale.
This will be my next winters project. It's a 1947 Atlas shaper. I probably wont resto this puppie. It's just toooo cool with all that character.
Thx, guys, for your comments...
