It's currently 79° here, said it might reach 80° today. I don't know if I could take your winters.
I hope you feel the need again before all your snow melts. Beautiful pics of a great looking M1. I don't know what I am more jealous of; the beautiful rifle or your photographic ability.
Beautiful, nice to actually see grass and wood even if it is online. On the positive note with this winter, I heard water levels on the Great Lakes might actually go up for the first time in many years. I hope this winter kills the some of the invasive species that are taking up residence in our countries. Best of all we can drive to the fish hut.LOL Summer will come! You have a beauty there. Many pics appreciated!!
Thanks so much ! That was educational, and entertaining. I'm just south of you, were supposed to get an inch.
Chris
Yes, spring is in the air! 28 degrees and snowing,1-3" today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Charlie,
Guess I am a little goofy because I like the tomato plant in the first picture. Just kidding, I believe this is the Winchester I remember you talking about before you bought it.
Damn, temp dropping to the mid 60s and rain, will have to kill soggy cardboard tomorrow.

I like the weight holding down your wife's tablecloth. If I need to hold down our tablecloth I'll use this:

These Winchesters stand out like a sore thumb because of the sights and type 2 band.

Dave,
The 5,8 I have the ugly pictures of has a 'Long Barrel Channel Stock'
I believe it to be the original stock.
No matter who comments.... or what particular book states, It will stay in that stock.
Nice BTW, Always liked that Carbine, Beautiful CC stamp.
Also always liked the picture Inland44 has of his Inland pictured on his deck.
Do you remember back a long time ago when BUBBA from Savannah had a pile of carbines that looked like Pick Up Sticks?
I'll get back later Weds. Currently busy selling off some xtra HG's.
Thanks to all for the 'Sun Shine'
It's been a fun post.

Great pics! I wish I could take pics like that out in the sunshine/natural light, but I live in an
apartment complex in the city. If I tried the cops would be all over me in 2 minutes!;)
Well let see if I got this straight;Spring/sunshine/Winchester! Would summer be Hot/Inland? How about Fall/cool/NPM?Winter/snowsnow/they won't come out!! :) GK
Dave and GOLFBRAVOUSMC, your Winchesters are the twins of my 5,701,503 Winchester. I do love a transitional Winchester... Fortunately (or unfortunately when considering the draught) we have had no shortage of sun.

Dave & Rangemaster, my Winchester also hangs out in Northern California. On occasions it can be seen at a local range being given some exercise by KiloBravo. This place is a hotbed of Winnies, must have something to do with the Winchester Mystery House.
Yep, Our glorious weather died yesterday. Now it is rain, cold, and even thunder.
Time to put winnie away, he may get a cold! :(
I'm progressing with my Winchester stocks in restoration/refinish. The attached pictures show all four stocks, the top stock is the one shown previously on the Winchester action. This is a keeper.
Counting from the top stocks 2-4 are in progress. Stock 2 is Linseed Oil finish, 3 is Tung Oil and I haven't decide on what finish for number 4.
Since 2 is almost done I decided to see what it would look like married up with Winchester action. I've included pictures of that marriage.
2-4 will eventually find a new home but it's tough letting them go because you tend to get an attachment to your work.
Oh well, it's a pleasant way to spend my time between Range outings.
