Am confused by Reisch about which .U. trig housing should be on my Underwood SN 4,042,813. The one I have is a type IV stamped/braised. But should it be a type III?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Colreed,
I have Underwood 4,054,680 in original condition...but with the rear sight swapped out to a adj type II. My housing is Brazed/Stamed type IV. I would think either a type III or IV could be very possible as issued.

I noticed at the bottom of your post reply to me, there is a button for PM, which I assume is for someone to send you an Email instead of a post reply. I've looked and looked but can't figure how to activate that. I'd like to give members the opportunity to email me from a post I made rather than reply. Can you tell me how to get my setup to allow that?
Thanks again.
Reed
You have to go into your profile, where you set up your Avatar pic and allow PM's to me sent.
I think....still trying to work the bugs out myself.

Thanks again Charlie
Found "messenging" but not "messaging and notification". Still working on it.
This is going to take some getting used to. Too fancy!
ColReed, The type 4 trigger housing would be correct for your serial number.
Thank you Bruce. Good news.
Harlan, I still cant fix it? I went to per. cont. panel, eddit opt., mesg./ notice and X the accept email, and clk. on save changes? should i have clk. on reset fields?
I think im getting to old to learn new trick's, any advice?
Boos,
You're NOT too old. Geese, you learned how to post photos on the old CSP site and that's no easy feat. Yes, I'd try resetting the fields and start over. Maybe it will 'take' that way.
Please let me know if that doesn't work.
Just take it one step at a time and don't be frustrated. This new format has a lot of benefits and you'll have it down in no time.
(Below is a pretty good image of me and my computer most of the time)

Iboos,
Do you have hotmail by any chance? I've tried everything and can't get it to work. Maybe it is our email provider????????
When dealing with Underwood carbines, be sure the correct parts have a bomb stamped where they should be. A lot of Underwood parts have a bomb stamp in locations where other manufacturers did not. Underwood parts assembled on carbines have the bomb. I understand that Underwood parts sent as replacement parts do not. Just be sure there is a bomb on the bottom of the trigger guard if it is on an Underwood carbine.
And a note on that bomb marking, sometimes it is only visible as a small c shape or the tip of the flame due to the difficulty of stamping on the curved surface.
