Hello, Haven't been on the forum for a very long time but need some help identifying an M-14 Bolt. Rummaging around in the shop I found an M-14 Bolt with these markings:
7790186 (Drawing number?)
HRT A16
BJV
Could some one ID this thing for me and give me a value? Shows VERY little finish wear and is complete, not a stripped bolt.

Can't ID the bolt, but there's no dash in M14 or M1 :)
Your HRT bolt is H&R and sub contractor T (Textile Machine Works) A16 is heat lot

You have to check around the M14 forum or the CMP forum for prices, complete NOS bolt could be over $250 maybe over $300 depending on the manufacturer, just a excellent condition bolt without any parts could sell for $200

wow thats expensive these days. back in the day when I bought a USA made roller bolt (complete) to replace in my Chinese M14 (M1A), it was only about $40. Times are getting expensive these days.
Wonder what an operating rod must cost today? (non rewelded)

I would say complete M14 bolts with correct parts and little wear are going for $350 +. I have seen some TRW and Winchester ones for over $400 and selling. Used bolts in usable condition without internals seem to go for $275-325. Check the M14 forum to get a better idea of costs and prices. (M14forum.com)
$400? Your 1/3 the way to a brand new M1a.
