1914 Enfield Birthday Rifle

Thought I would post some photo of this 100 year old girl. Got it several years back. All matching, came with disk. Was just missing the cut off which I replaced. I added the sling and the dated oiler.

Is it just me or the fuzzy picture, but it looks like a .410 musket.

Could the disk be 5th (service) Battalion the Connaught Rangers, who were formed in August 1914 and were sent to Gallipoli.

Yes, your rifle would have originally had volley sights. They were soon regarded as obsolete and most of the surviving rifles eventually had them removed.
