In short, no.
You will need to do some actual shooting with your rifle, with the ammunition of your choice at the desired range to determine what changes in sighting are needed.
100 yards is always interesting, because the SMLE sights settings don't go that low.
Once you have POI set where you want it against POA you will not need to adjust it for distance - you adjust the rear sight.
You need to tell us where your POI is NOW in relation to POA
The sights are calibrated ONLY for Mil Spec MKVII ammunition - the rear sight distances will be incorrect for anythng else. You will need to make a note (for each brand of ammunition) what the setting needs to be.
For example using PPU 174g FMJ at 300 yards, you may need to have the sights set at 350 yds
Then again to back up what has been said the condition of the No 1 Mk III it may be a real gem or had a hard life which is pretty close for the 303's given the conflicts that have happened and to obtain a real mickey mouse one your either in the pipeline or have a deep wallet!
And as Alan de Enfield said loads have allot to do with it as the 174gn SMK has a different BC to the Mk VII projie also we do not use Cordite anymore so best as stated get to the range with a number of front sights and go from there as this web site provides plenty of info on what to do's given the depth of experience contained here. This web site provides a 25 meter ranging target with the appropriate elevation POI markings on it but as stated the modern projies flight will be different than the Mk VII projectile.
Factory rounds will have a POI differing from reloads and the variables and so on
Thanks guys the rifle is a newly assembled no1 mk3* it's been assembled using unissued original and matching serial numbered parts that have been sat in storage the barrel is unfired also it's maid by C&g firearms here in the UK I will be shooting PPU 174gr FMJ ammunition only I was hoping someone could tell me what sizes I should look at and what sizes to avoid using as I have the full set to give me a rough area before I start to zero it

I suggest bore-sight the rifle as follows: Remove the bolt. Set the rifle up on a rest (pillows etc) so that you are sighting on a distinctive distant object, like a chimney-pot, using the iron sights set at 200yds. Without touching the rifle, look down the bore. The distant object should be in the centre of the bore. In other words, the line of sight down the bore and the rifle sights line up at 200yds - more or less. I use the same method for sighting in telescopic sights, but no reason why you can't use this to make initial adjustments to your foresight.
C&G are a "strange operation" and I wonder how come they manage to find all numbers matching Nose-piece, sights, barrel, action and bolt that are all unused / unfired and original.Quote:

Maybe the matching numbers is just a recent thing ?
They have in past sold a number of Enforcers which did not exist before they had them for sale, and on close scrutiny were actually built up No4's.

How about you give him a ring and ask rather than slagging the company off on a forum there is a hell of a lot of parts out there it's not impossible that they could have stayed together in storage the only thing that doesn't match is the stocks that are Not original.
